I seen i have about 3 of my pages (out of 100 page site) showing up on google now. Still have page rank of 0. Now if i keep going around and posting on every link directory i see, will this come up and i start getting a ranking? I may have posted on 200 directorys so about how many does it take to get at least 1? Thousands or am i just wasting my time? Went to alexa and still says no info for this site. So is posting in link directors going to help this. Sorry for the dumb question i am new lol
1. All new sites have a pr of 0 until a regular update occurs. No one knows when this will happen, but when it does, there will be a very active thread in the Google section of this forum about it. You'll know it really happened because lots of people will report changes. 2. All links (except on penalized pages) help your PR, but directories are the weakest source of links, for a variety of reasons. If you really want a good PR, you will have to diversify your linking plan. I find niche toplists to be a great way to start. There are many ways to find good sites to link to, PM for a few a tips. 3. Pagerank is not the primary goal of linking. Search engine ranking position is. Use the PR of sites you submit to as a general guide to how helpful it will be. Your own PR will rise over the course of several updates. Your links will only help you gain in the SERPs if you target keywords and use anchor text in your links. Otherwise, they supply only PR. 4. You will hear warnings about linking too fast, but this only applies to automated methods. Nothing you can do manually could possibly be too fast. Sites often accumulate links rapidly.
It is okay for a new guy to ask such a question. The only way is to bring quality backlinks to your website. And do you know how many backlinks does google already find to your site? You can check it with link:www.yourdomain.com or google webmaster tool. You may get pr1 at least if link:www.yourdomain.com says that your have more than 10 pagerank 2 backlinks to your site.
youdomain.com is a chinese language website, can u give me some other website that is equivalent to youdomain. as i also have same query like the person who started this thread.
LOL! @prakash "youdomain.com" is just an example, put whatever site you wish to check in that spot. It will work for any real website which is indexed.
ohhhhhhh sorry sorry! i thought youdomain.com is some kind of website which is having some article / content related to this topic.
I typed in "myinvesting.net" i show 33 with my name in the subjest but that is just the directories i posted to. Maybe 2 of them is a direct post to my site. i typed in "link:myinvesting.net" (link:www.youdomain.com ) i get 0 is this what you are talking about. The more i see with my name around the better it is to get a listing or move up
This is anchor text keywords go here It looks like this: This is anchor text keywords go here Apparently I just gave a backlink to a hosting site! If they're targeting the keyphrase "anchor text" or "Keywords go here", I just helped them out. I bet this happens to them a lot, as they have PR6
Your domain is very young: Created: 2008-03-18 Expires: 2009-03-18 You need to build more quality backlinks to your website. And it may reach pagerank 1 on the following pagerank update if your ws is lucky.
The "link operator" (link:site.com) is very innaccurate. It never shows all of your links. To get a better estimate, open an account with Google Webmasters Tools if you haven't yet, and verify your site via the control panel. After a few weeks, it will show you all the links Google has crawled to your site and when they wre last indexed.
PR will remain 0 until google updates the toolbar. Free directories are not a great source of backlinks. You'll need to do a lot of other link building. Paid directories and niche directories are likely to give more beneficial backlinks.
Wait for the next PR update which may come any time April. Meanwhile start getting more backlinks and leave your site in the signature link in dp. It counts. Keep submitting to free directories and don't loose your heart. If you don't get PR this time, you will get it in the next update and nowadays PR has lost its sheen and traffic is more important for monetizing your site
I thought that with a higher PR you move up on the search engines causing the traffic. I thought without PR you stay an very bottom of search engine and no one will ever see you , then how will you build traffic then.
