I don't think it will. But I think you should buy a domain. Easier for people to remember. If you don't want to buy one then look at this (free domain for posting): http://www.whooked.com/information/909-get-your-free-domain.html

Yes it does. I had a name like that back in the past. Nobody could find it. Get your domain, then worry about what to do with it.

It is pretty harder if you are targeting highly competitive keywords as well.. However, it should not be a problem for most niches :)

Concentrate on your content, title and inbound links.

Google throws a lot of weight to keywords in the domain name. Get your own top level domain. For niche websites, a domain name with keywords in it will give you a great edge.

For sure it will help put a small description of the site within the domain name, but thats just the start of it!

I think it helps associate your site with a keyword string. It is a lot harder to associate a "made up name" with a keyword, then it is to associate a direct keyword URL with the same keyword (however it can be done, of course...with more work)

You're wrong, this is not the most important aspect, content is the most important aspect when trying to rank in search results. I constantly see search results without keywords in the domain name and they are still #1. I think you should do more research into SEO before you continue to help people, I've seen quite a few inaccurate posts by you.

I try and look at it this way, if you were giving someone your domain by speaking it, could they remember gt-servers.com

Some domains, not yours, can be tongue twisters almost.

I guess if people forgot your domain or got it slightly confused often you could say it would affect things.

But in a general seo sense id say no, its handy if you have your keyword in it, but not the end of the world, some people go for branding instead, they want a non keyword catchy domain.

Someone once posted that the domain memorability only matters if people need to type it in. If the site is going to be one of many niche sites then whether it ends in .abc doesn't really matter. Hitting the right keywords in the domain/title is more important.

Sometime I'm confused which one is more effective for SEO - subdomain or subdirectory.

I believe domain name has least affect on SEO. Anyway, it's always good to have domain name rather than using someone's sub domain.

I think domain no longer effective for SEO. Some times it may be.
If you have register domain name according to Search Engine Rules (not more then 3 hyphens, underscore).
and site have good content, well optimize then definetly you got good results.

Remamber: Domain name should be Easier for people to remember.
