McCain's Spiritual Guide: Destroy Islam :(

Senator John McCain hailed as a spiritual adviser an Ohio (Rod Parsley, a key McCain ally in Ohio
) megachurch pastor who has called upon Christians to wage a "war" against the "false religion" of Islam with the aim of destroying it.

Parsley claims that Islam is an "anti-Christ religion" predicated on "deception." The Muslim prophet Muhammad, he writes, "received revelations from demons and not from the true God." And he emphasizes this point: "Allah was a demon spirit." Parsley does not differentiate between violent Islamic extremists and other followers of the religion:

The spirit of Islam, he maintains, is one of hostility. He asserts that the religion "inspired" the 9/11 attacks. He bemoans the fact that in the years after 9/11, 34,000 Americans "have become Muslim" and that there are "some 1,209 mosques" in America. Islam, he declares, is a "faith that fully intends to conquer the world" through violence. The United States, he insists, "has historically understood herself as a bastion against Islam," but "history is crashing in upon us."

Both obama and mc-cain have chosen strange pastors as "spiritual adviser's".

You needn't worry ziya, there are always nutjobs who call for jihads and crusades.
I hope most people know better ........

These nutjobs in no way represent the majority.

I believe this is old news. Everyone knows what that pastor told. It was all over the internet, even MSM covered it.

IMO, this isn't something that would surprise anybody. That pastor knows nothing, maybe he also grew up in an environment where a boogiman is required. You know... KKK, AIPAC, ADF, LGF say such stuff all the time...

Probably he is not Mccain's spiritual leader either...

I think Bill Clinton's is, or at least has been, Bill Hybels, a leader in the Megachurch business, er, ministry.

Not sure if Hillary has one.

On "the Rev" Parsley. Yikes, yeah, great. Just what we need. I am curious whether this will bite McCain in the ass, as Wright did Obama (at least for the millisecond of the news cycle that it was, it seems).

    Vote Ron Paul.

Though I walk the valley in the shadow of MSM, I shalt not be swayed.

To get elected in America, yes. I love my land and its people, but man we do get in a tither over the sex lives, issues of faith (or not), and so forth, in our elected leaders. It still blows my mind, comparatively speaking, that Sarkozy got elected as a divorced single, swinging with a model. Wouldn't exactly fly here.

Well, as my sacred guide of wisdom, written on Charmin's states, one must partake of the flesh to gain the essence.

EAT HIS LIVER AND CONSUME THE SOUL FOR THE MIGHTY POWER OF THE SPIRITUAL ADVISER! ABSORB THE ENERGY! LET IT FLOW! BE ONE WITH THE LIVER!

THEN YE MUST CONSUME OF THE HEART! AND THEN YOU SHALL HAVE HIS POWER!

Quick correction, if you don't mind.
He was still married when he got elected. The paperwork and La Bruni was after he secured his victory.

Thanks, Rankhyips. I had forgotten, but do remember now being blown away by that more than anything else - when he divorced - given that it was post-election, what kind of a hue and cry would be raised here in the states. I appreciate that in Europe citizens just don't seem to care about the private lives of its leaders to the extent we do here in the States.

Even with McCain gone, it is possible that Romney or Huckabee might jump in as a frontrunner.

I believe they have "suspended" their campaign, and not aborted it. Their delegates are still not free.
