I've found something interested while browsing internet. "Very interesting technique has been to use a random “headshot†(picture of a person’s face) as the “author of the article.†Make sure the image is of someone that looks the part and that it has heir of professionalism to it. Credibility is required to pull this one off. Now, the secret is to place the article “author’s†image right next to your ads (see graphic below). If you pull this off correctly, you will create the perception that the Ads are the expert author’s “recommended resources†and visitors, naturally will freely click on them all day long. I’ve experienced tremendous success with this tactic."
Adsense now has rules about placing images next to or near ads. http://adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/ad-and-image-placement-policy.html Users should click ads because they are interested in them, not because they thought it was a navigation link or a "resource". This may get you banned.
Because people who would think that you are an expert would click ads because they would think that you recommend those ad sites. At least I think so.
Looks like an interesting option, worth trying. I think it is adsense safe. The photograph of a cute girl will multiply the clicks, I hope
Smart idea, I think it is within Google TOS too Problem is whose picture? Maybe I will use our Dear Bush photo.
I think good idea would be to post a photo with someone holding a cheque so it would encourage people.
1. using ANY persons face just for gain AND to create false impressions in readers is one of those many deceiving techniques - in addition - fortunately, it may bring you also a million $ lawsuit for publishing/abusing photos from OTHER persons without permission. I assume you have no intentions of getting that photographed persons permission to prostitute his image for your personal gain?! your " ... you will create the perception that the Ads are the expert author’s “recommended resources†..." shows your readiness to deceive readers .... it is exactly such kind of deceiving abuse by ruthless publishers of MFA sites that damages the entire publsiher AND advertiser industry. there are also OTHER means to earn money - HONEST methods = hard work, improved knowledge to acquire expertise in topics you publish, improved and increased unique content fully SEO'd to attract the ten thousands of uv/day needed to provide for a decent revenue in a most honest way.
I don't tell that you have to do it. If you don't want just don't do it. I agree in some point. The best way would be to build your own profile of an expert.
