well it happened with my site.. one day i saw its rank around 43k.. the very next day the rank was above 1lac.. currently it has 17604 rank.

so dont think about alexa rankings .. better you increase your google pr.

 

I belief that system does NOT work anylonger
why?
I have image hotlink protection an dreplace the hotlinked image with a banner.
I have ten/hundred thousands of hotlinked images across www
there is no apparent influence on my alexa rankingI have some 16'000 uv/d and an alexa ranking just below 40'000

 

Having a good alexa ranking isn't that important because alexa rankings can be
manipulated.

 

It can be manipulated.. Waste of time to work on it........
You better deal with something real like Search Engines..

 

Alexa ranking is totally depends on site's Traffic... to get more traffic... try to get more and more links that will give your site a good ranking for your keywords so as your traffic...

alexa ranking is somehow obsolete history for now...

 

Alexa does matter though because it is what advertisers look towards for new clients. YOu should always knwo your Alexa ranking and try to improve it.

This is true. Concentrate on just getting traffic to your site first. Then you will see an increase in your alexa ranking....

I have just read it was possible to increase Alexa rankings by just putting the Alexa Traffic Rank Button.

Does alexa really matter? I have not worried about alexa ranking at all. I worry more about google and yahoo.
