Israel to Seek $2.2 Billion From U.S. for Gaza Pullout In defiance of international law, Israel has militarily occupied the Palestinian Gaza Strip and established illegal settlements there for more than 38 years. If the United States is serious about promoting the rule of law, it cannot reward Israel with money for the numerous human rights violations it has committed against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip over the past four decades. This makes no sense at all, why would Israel ask the American taxpayers to pay for their BS? INSANITY
None of this will come into question until the economy crashes. The people are happy to sacrifice their prosperity and treasure as long as the government can cover up the embezzlement of the nation through inflation. Right now, people think taxes hurt. Wait until the printing presses grind to a halt, and taxes go up 15%. People will be screaming bloody murder.
Really? Or is it just that this is 3 year old news, why would news organizations keep reporting it? Should they keep running the photos and video of Palestinians cheering the 9/11 attacks? Should old news keep bring run? Of course not. The only reason you are posting this 3 year old article is to try and make Israel look bad. If the US promised Israel that money they should get it. The Israelis lived up to their end and pulled out of Gaza. Unfortunately, the Palestinians took this great opportunity and used it to to elect Hamas and attack Israel from their newly controlled Gaza. What a shortsighted and violent decision to make.
There is a group of people in this forum, that their main target in their life is to make Israel look bad during completely ignore from what the Arabs doing to Israel. it's disgusting. BTW: Anybody here heard on the hundreds of millions that USA gives to the "Palestinian National Authority" every year?
They are stating the facts, if stating the facts makes Israel look bad, it can't be help, can it? I am certainly more pro Israel than Arabs to be frank, but facts are facts.
Anybody here heard on the hundreds of millions that USA gives to the "Palestinian National Authority" every year? it's a fact too. you know what they are doing with this money? Arafat took 300 million to his pocket, and the rest is for weapons.
How much aid do Israelisget? How much do Palestinians get? If you're looking for a comparison, here it is... So, Palestinians get a total of $127 million a year, whereas Israel gets $3.1 billion as direct aid, and pours in billions of dollars more in the form of military aid. here is a direct table, http://www.wrmea.com/archives/July_2006/0607016.html , showing the last 10 years of aid given to israel
I don't think most people have to try to do that, Israel does it to itself, all one has to do is dig up the facts to see that Israel is at the top of the list for human rights violations. If Israel did not have the unconditional support of the USA they would be in deep doodoo.
LOL That's funny, because last time I checked Israel still controlled Gaza. They control the skies, the seas, the borders, the water, the electricity - shall I go on? So they are going to ask us for $2.2 billion for disengagement, yet still technically control Gaza. Ummm, sure. You might have no problem paying for this BS but I certainly do. Our debt has reached $30,000 per person in the US, this simply isn't acceptable (to me at least... maybe you're rich, but I'm not, sorry). Great point, let's take this opportunity to compare where USA's foreign aid actually goes... During Fiscal Year 2007, the U.S. gave more than $6.8 million per day to Israel and $0.3 million per day to the Palestinians. Contrary to ordinary U.S. policy, Israel has been and continues to be allowed to use 26% of this military aid to purchase equipment from Israeli manufacturers. According to CRS, “no other recipient of U.S. military assistance has been granted this benefit.†Thanks in part to this indirect U.S. subsidy, Israel’s arms industry has become one of the strongest in the world. Well that's great to know. The Costs to American Taxpayers of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: $3 Trillion “The indirect or consequential costs to the American taxpayer as a result of Washington’s blind support for Israel exceed by many times the amount of direct U.S. aid to Israel. Some of these ‘indirect or consequential’ costs would include the costs to U.S. manufacturers of the Arab boycott, the costs to U.S. companies and consumers of the Arab oil embargo and consequent soaring oil prices as a result of U.S. support for Israel in the 1973 war, and the costs of U.S. unilateral economic sanctions on Iran, Iraq, Libya and Syria." Sad but true. I don't understand how a nation plays pity card then turns around and shoots his neighbor in the head. It makes no sense to me.
It's funny. on the one hand you want us to keep provide them electricity, water although the terror attacks and we do provide them. on the other hand you say that we control the water and electricity. if you want we can stop providing them that, as your wish. about the borders.. it's our borders! do you expect that we let the Arabs to control our borders?
Well this is not funny actually! It would be nice if Israel actually stops the illegal settlements on Palestinian land and grants the Palestinian people a State?
Why do American employers have to pay that money to Israel, it would be good to spend that money to stop AIDS especially to help ppls from Africa. They are kinda stealing your money(American tax payers)
I am just hoping and praying that the next US president is neither McCain nor Hillary. I want someone more even-handed, righteous, someone like... Dr. Ron Paul... or Barack Obama
We're not going to get Dr. Paul, we might get Obama. I just wouldn't be so quick to call Obama righteous. I think he is all things to everyone at all times, and a lot of people are projecting their desires and values onto him. In the short term, I'll take a President who will end the war AND the occupation (which is really the same thing).
McCain will certainly not end the war, Obama will get out as soon as it is convenient for him to do so.
