@ ManKat Mate, Applying for a credit card is as easy as opening a bank account in India, There are lots of banks who are offering life time free credit cards to the consumers, They don't even require any deposits as told to you by other banks, Here is a customer care number of SBI credit cards, You can simply call them and ask them to send a representative over, Who would fill up the application and submit the same.Once the card is approved which usually takes around 7 days, You would get your credit card in around 15 days time, Here are the numbers 39020202 , you can also apply on their website www.sbicard.com Note : I have seen you are keen on settling for a VCC, This will be detected and your account will be closed permanently, I strongly suggest you not to do so, Once you add your VCC, Paypal executive will do their homework whether it is a VCC or a real credit card and once they figure out it is a VCC, You know what will happen...
I think I am not agree with you mate. There is nothing wrong using VCC with PayPal. It's not against TOS of PayPal. M I Right Guys?
i went to a local branch of sbi and they asked me to make a fixed deposit of rs 50000 as a gaurantee for the card....n that money would be the upper limit of the card
You can use your ATM VISA debit card issued by any nationalized Indian bank. They are valid all over the world. Most of the banks issue the Visa ATM (debit) card and PayPal accepts it. Also, have about Rs. 200 or more as balance (over your minimum as per bank's requirements) in your bank account when giving the Visa related information to PayPal. It is required for the first time only, and PayPal will do a small transaction (PayPal will return you that $ 1 to $2 immediately by putting it back in your PayPal account). Hope this helps you!
SBI Credit Cards are not connected with State Bank of India, GE India manages and operates SBI cards as a separate entity by using the SBI name, They pay State Bank of India a royalty for using their name, SBI cards are not concerned with your deposit or account with SBI bank account, Call them up and they will let you know the details. Using a VCC is against the TOS of PayPal and your account will be terminated if detected .
i hv called them up...the sbicard help line...hope to get a new card soon.... newaz, thanx for the help guys.
Unfortunately It's not true, You can't use any ATM card issued by any Inidian bank to verify your paypal account.
if go to netspend.com you can get a free debit card never any fees lol i use one, no setup feee no purchase feess nothing load money to it from paypal acts as bank account i dotn know how they make money off it???
Can't you just add your bank account information to the account? I don't remember giving any credit card information unless they just saved it when I used my paypal address and gave my information to godaddy or whatever I did. I can't remember exactly...it's been a while.
Only customers in US, Germany and UK can verify with a bank account. Most of us are not from those countries and the only option is to verify using a credit card. The method may vary from country to country. The OP is from India and verification is thus done via a credit card.
Heh, learning something new everyday. That's really limiting to a lot of people, but I guess its more beneficial to them.
Try doing a credit card verification. I did one with Visa and got my card verified but I had to wait for at least a month to get it verified as Paypal sent me the secret 4 digit verification number on my credit card statement!
