Tottenham Hotspur going Spanish...

Juande Ramos is apparently going to let go many Brits that are in the team right now.

And in will come foreigners, Spaniards first of all, of course.

So, worried why the national team is at such low levels?

After Capello, are they going to sign up foreigners (after providing citizenship of course) in the national side also?

Are the Brits going to be just couch/pub/stadium fans and leave foreigners on the field?

I think that's not the correct reasoning, look at Italian champions Inter, they have only a couple of Italians in the entire squad, like many other top Italian clubs, however, Italy always goes sky high in the national level, just like the 2006 WC.

On the subject of football, Jose Morhinho is going to Inter Milan :)

Tottenham will be like all the rest of the big english clubs.

I understand that, but the problem in England is so widespread, that it's not just Tottenham, actually the bigger clubs are even worse.

In Italy the other big ones do have many Italians, and typically players that leave have a hard time getting into the national team, at least after a while, not immediately. So they usually come back after a season or two if they want to stay or get back in.

At Tottenham you could find a few Brits, now you have to look at what, Derby?

But yes, it's not the only reason.

The point is actually that it's sad to see English teams looking so much for cheaper foreign talent, even at very young ages.

the same case is in india ,:D(i hope you have heard india in football rank 150)
in india there is no big attacker as all clubs hire attackers from other countries
which in turn harms the national side which has no good forward player

Its not the quality of the English players its the price tags everyone puts on English players, you get buy more for less if you bring in Foreign players.

I think if you asked most Premiership managers they would on the whole prefer to bring in English or at least British players but are often priced out of moves.

Take my team Pompey, spend around 6million on David Nugent and he's I think only started 2 Premier League games, we had to spend near on £10 million to get a great English striker.

Saying that if Spurs are getting rid of players I'm sure that Pompey will take a few off your hands and make a success of them.

So, is he going to allow Robinson, Huddestone, King, Lennon and Dawson to go ?

    I don't think so.

Thanks to Pompey for recycling so many good premiership players, particularly when British.

But if you look at history, in the old days, when there was an empire, the Brits would typically be in command and many of the troops would be from the colonies. Not always, but very often. Obviously the Empire was so huge that there weren't enough people in Britain.

Because history repeats itself, I have a feeling that it's going to happen to soccer/football also.

The Brits directors, the foreigners athletes, unfortunately it's even worse since ownership of many clubs is going abroad, and even the England national team doesn't have a British (not necessarily English) manager.

And some want to add premiership games abroad...come on, it looks like an international league to me, they need to start British ones with British players.

And Lampard is approaching the last stage of his career, Terry is going to follow, Gerrard still has a few years and definitely is an inspirational player and Rooney has many years, so 2 out of the list.

Still, I think that Britain could breed many great players if only they would get their act together, players, teams and associations, and finally, supporters!

Thats the way things have gone with the premiership unfortunately it is all about money, supply and demand it has turned into a vicious circle.
