I think that post counts shouldnt count in the Introduction Section, as users often just post:

Just to push up the post count.

    Just my opinion!

It has been mentioned before. I agree entirely - Introductions is a cut and paster's paradise. I think we should also have some system that allows newbies to make their hello thread but prevents them from replying to threads in that forum.

At least it stops them from posting useless threads like "what is a link?" etc in the main forums

You can get infractions for posts such as 'PM sent' and 'PM me', as that pushes up your post count. It should be the same for the Introduction section, where users post the same over and over again.

Im guessing you are one of them...

Cool. Since I suggested it, want to reverse some infractions for me? :)

Sure, as long as you don't mind being infracted for very suggestion that you don't make;)

I don't greet new people. It would be like greeting cannon fodder. "Why hello there Mr. Paper, how are you doing this fine warlike day?" "Lawl hi i new" *BANG* "Bye Mr. Paper. I knew thee not." Repeat X30

The people to look for are the ones who stay. Replace the intro forum with the "Cannon Fodder" forum, then slap on the "Say hi to people who made it to a month" forum. Otherwise it's just greeting a high turnover crowd - and postcount +1 syndrome is furthered elsewhere.

I stay away from that forum for exactly that reason. I'd hate to be accused of adding more rows to the database ;)

Well I am gonna make every suggestion.

    More personal things, like:
'Hi {user}. Read the rules, and you will stay clear of infractions. I;m sure you will get any help you need'

    Than:
    'Hi{user} welcome to DP.'
