The html/css tutorial set at htmldog.com is exemplary. All tutorials should be as well structured. Make your bed-time reading the css specs. There are a lot of explanations. Combine the reading with practical application; reading the entire section for whatever area you question. cheers, gary
Bear in mind that the Ultimate CSS Reference is not meant for those learning CSS. It's meant to be a "reference" for those who already know what they're doing. (Yes, this is a standard disclaimer post, and no, SitePoint did not make me say it.)
w3schools.com has some really good tutorials and a live demo thing. I've been doing CSS for years and still use w3schools.com to this day.
Yeah, right! You really hate it. I haven't looked at SitePoint's, but W3Schools's tutes were in serious need of updating the last time I checked. cheers, gary
You can start with the basics. Westciv has a pretty detailed tutorial: http://www.westciv.com/style_master/academy/css_tutorial/ Once you understand how CSS works, you can start messing around at CSSZenGarden: http://csszengarden.com/ or get some self-help at BonRouge: http://bonrouge.com/~faq
