I usually turn it off at night now, since I heard that it was possible for some talented hackers to use your computers resource for spam and other tasks, if you are connected to the net and they find their way into your system.
I turn my PC off at night when I remember too. Otherwise, it hibernates after 15 minutes of inactivity..
No way.. it takes 1 minute for it to boot and I don't want to wait in the morning. Plus; I usually have some files to downloads
I always Switch off my PC every night. After all PC needs rest too Also no need to use extra power while i am away from my PC. DON.
I have not turned off this computer in over a year, except to move it once, and add some more ram and a few restarts of course Any time I have ever had a computer "stop working" on me, its always on the boot up.. I have heard that the boot up process actually wears down alot of the parts more then if they are just kept running, not sure if thats correct or not, but I try not to shut down/start up my pc unless I have to.
Too scarred to shut down... like if I do then the boogieman will come out of nowhere and do perverted weird stuff that'll damage my PC But really though, MAYBE during the summer I'll shut down (actually hibernate) more since cooling it in my room isn't the easiest thing to pull off. Otherwise, I just have (CRT) moniter cut off when inactive for 15 minutes since that's a big juice eater. Like someone else noted my main PC issues arise when booting up. Don't want my hard drives to repeatedly spin down & spin back up too often. That and I usually have a lot of stuff open from coding stuff to internet tabs.
if i dont fall asleep first i turn it off. Google has turned off the lights on their search(in the UK)page lol! looks weird, check it out
Well, I have a laptop, so yes I always turn it off at night. My mom & dad don't turn off their computer's. My brother sometimes does. But yes I always turn mine off since it is a laptop!!
*merged with previous thread* Yeah, I always leave mine on, unless I need to reboot for some reason. Saves time in the morning, not having to wait to turn it back on.
