Well, if you got caught, you will have hell to pay especially with all the crackdowns on illegal sites in Malaysia. If you want to take the risk, it is really up to you.

As Eddy says, just incorporate and host it in a country where it is legal. Malaysia does not criminalize earning money on overseas gambling operations.

be very careful about this because the USA does not want its citizens gambling their money outside the USA so it goes after foreign nationals who operate casino websites and take on US customers, and actually kidnaps foreign nationals and then takes them to US soil for "justice"...

its no joke only a few months ago they took this guy off a plane from the dominican republic who ran a online casino and how hes in the USA waiting trial...he never set foot on american soil in his life...

im not saying you will be kidnapped im just warning you that you will have to think out a system of taking on customers who live in less restrictive countries because the "free market economy" is not free...

The thing is that when it comes to money and finances, it can be a platform of money laundering and illegal money transfers. It is even more so when it comes to gambling. Casinoes used to be a platform for 'cleaning money' and there probably is some still doing that. As such, governments are mindful of that and thus anything to do with real money would have very strict compliance laws to them.

It is not necessary that the online market is controlled by the West. It need not be so.

good point on the money laundering this is the next big problem. in reality one is guilty until he is proved innocent because they can throw RICO charges at you and money laundering and if god for bid you do well with your gambling website you may get CCE charges (continuing a criminal enterprise) and your sentence could be like a mathematical formula 5+10+5+25

not to mention that they will confiscate your belongings/bank accounts/cars

but at the same time its ok if foreign tourists and nationals gamble THEIR money in the USA

This is a bit of a mischaracterisation. He was arrested by Dominican authorities and turned over to the US. It looks like the only charges that are sticking are racketeering, fraud, and tax evasion.

    No you said lottery?
If it requires no money to play all you need to do is display one of those warnings that u see in commercials. Example *Not vaild where it is not vaild, must be 18 years or older to enter, if you live in USA, then a first and last name is required.... ect..*
Yet if you are running an online gambling site -_- then u should thinks twice :p

Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act RICO is universally thrown around left and right when they need a good excuse to put somebody away when it cant be done the regular way with regular law. it was made to fight organized crime but its widely applied and interpreted.

Tax evasion is easy to stick its a universal weapon used to punish people who do not pay "tax"=extortion money to the government (this is not racketeering tho  )

fact is he was taken off a plane and deported to the USA he never stepped on us soil in his life and his crime was that he had an online gambling website where people went to gamble with their own already heavily taxed money.

he got CCE charges too he was in the biz for a few years so this is "continuing a criminal enterprise"

    dark times ahead...
