I think that Leonel Messi from Barcelona is a real phenomenom...also like Maradona, Deko, Henry, Kaka and many other great players...but this guy (Messi) is really magic and fast

All these modern players you guys mention are the best at what they do. Pele was the greatest all round, but the most versatile players of the past - Duncan Edwards was a centre forward, but he would play anywhere on the pitch (he had to, because at Man U and when playing for England he had to share the pitch with Tommy Taylor). Paul Madeley played in every position for Leeds U except goal, and half a dozen positions for England. Versatility at national level is rare. It is a shame that a lot of players do not get the chance to show it. Anelka, Fabregas and Heskey are probably the best all-round talents in the modern game.
