PR is something that webmasters are obsessed with but it doesn't matter at all unless you are selling links, because otherwise it is just a number and doesn't necessarily show where you will rank for keywords, etc.

well, you need lots of backlinks and traffic to have a high pr, so in reality once you do have a PR, you usually already have the traffic and backlinks

Traffic has relation with back links but not with the PR.

You must link with sites that has higher PR or same PR that you have, because if your link to a site that has lower PR than you then your PR will be affected. its because your sharing your PR with another site. so i suggest you choose a good PR site.. Godbless..

Linking with sites with lower pagerank is not necessarily a bad thing, but you need links from higher ranked pages to help your rank.

Google's Page Rank system does NOT indicate traffic. Although your site have PR5 or more, it does NOT guarantee your site get high traffic.

Yes but not only. At the end we all want more traffic. To get more traffic one needs more PR and constant site optimization.

    This is absolutely wrong.
To get more traffic, one needs a great promotion campaign and a site that will keep the visitors coming back. I can give you a crappy site with PR 7 without any decent traffic. These two values are not connected in any way.
It is a fact that people/sites who are after PR have nothing else to offer.
Do your job, earn your money or just do your hobby, but try to enjoy it and give the rest a reason to come back to your site. Otherwise you will end up with a PR site with nothing but crap in it.

Pr is a rating for your website. It is built with time. Keep having contents and your pr will increase. Normally, a site with higher pr is considered to be more trustworthy and having better contents.

    This question is always asked.

The PageRank seen on the toolbar is old. Google updates their internal Pagerank more frequently. So what you see on the toolbar represents only the last time PR was exported. And Google can manipulate exported PR where it does not affect SERPS.

    Here's Google's take on Pagerank:

    Read the rest here: http://www.google.com/corporate/tech.html

Basically, if you are more likely to be towards the top of the search results having a higher Pagerank, your going to get more traffic. But the toolbar PR indicators are old, and I suspect Google purposely adjusts toolbar PR on some sites to discourage link sales.
