Password-protected folder on website

    Hi all,

I must be using the wrong set of keywords on Google, I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for. And where robots fail, it's wise to try... humans.

I need to add a second layer of protection to the Admin control panel of my forum. Therefore, I want to password protect the admin control folder (I'm using vBulletin). How do I this... or what keywords should I Google?

Thanks to anyone who can put me on the right track.

don't worry about it ;) i spent 6 hours last night trying to work out why a paged worked only local puter but not the web server only to have overlooked that i had a capital letter in the file name but not in the script... opps

Hope the video helped, i find them easier than reading or explaining.

Those capital letters can be tricky. I had my site hosted on a Windows computer for about six month and the Windows file system isn't case-sensitive. I had created a link from one blog post to a bit of software I had written with different capitalisation and the link worked fine until I put it on a Solaris server.

It took me a while to figure out why I was suddenly getting 404s all over the place.
