    Hi all,
Right so I believe I got scammed. I pad a guy here on dp half the amount for some joomla work last Saturday. Yes I know you guys will criticize me for not looking at iTrader and stuff, but I *thought* I had done my homework.

Now 5 days went by and he never did anything, once he logged on and told he has Internet issues...so I let it go.

Yesterday I caught up with him and asked him to return the money, he said ok, I need to restart my PC and poof....gone. Later Googling him I found he had scammed at least one person out of some big amount. The amount I have paid him is nowhere as big, but I work hard for that money:eek:

So I have opened a dispute with PayPal...now should I wait for his response or should I escalate it to a claim directly? Any advice will be appreciated.

Escalate to claim asap. He probably wont reply in PayPal, so you should escalate.

If he knows how to scam, he will empty his account. The quicker you escalate, the quicker you win and the less chance he has to empty his account.

Escalate it to a claim directly, for a scammer more time is useless.

escalate your claim and be sure to tell paypal that repeated attempts to contact that person has failed.
make sure paypal understands that you have repeatedly attempted to contact that person.

    Thanks guys.

I have escalated it to a claim and hope all goes well. I have even provided links to posts where people say he is a scam. Hopefully PayPal will see it my way. Again all your help is really appreciated.

Go to the resolution centre and from there you can see all the details of the claim and you will be able to respond to it.
