Yet, another logo contest for my site, in one final attempt to find a logo that really screams at me as being "the one."

I've already held two contests, and there were no doubt, many great entries. Yet, there hasn't been one that just really caught me right off the bat.

My site can be found in my signature. It's a men's online magazine/blog that focuses on relationships, tech toys, cars, investing, sports, fitness, etc. Basically everything that the average man is interested in. I'm in the process of having the whole theme re-designed to look more like an online magazine. Early design stage can be found here: http://www.trendspike.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/trendspike-final.png Who knows, maybe this theme design will give you an idea on what I like....or maybe it will just confuse you more, lol. *Shrug* So, anyway, I need a new logo to launch with this new theme. The header on my current site (characters, slogan, and car image) will remain the same for the most part, except for the logo, obviously.

LOGO MUST ME ON WHITE BACKGROUND. I will be using this logo on my site, as well as on t-shirts. So you may want to ask yourself if a male age 18-34 would wear a t-shirt with that logo.

Here are some keywords that kind of represent what I'm looking for in a logo:

    Alpha Male
    Hint of Sophistication
    Edgey
    Chillaxed

Don't take these keywords too seriously. They are more of a starting point than criteria set in stone. Here are some logos that have been made for me that I liked but just didn't quite make it (as you can see, they are all very different; some of them represent a lot of the keywords given, and some don't):

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=736311

    Entry #28 and #33

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=750348

Entry #7 - This is probably the best option for my site so far, and possibly the one I end up using, unless I find something better.

Prizes will be given to three winners as mentioned above. However, this thread must produce a winning logo (that I actually use on my site) before any prizes are rewarded.

Yes, the logo must include the Trend Spike name. You can use images (although I don't have anything specific in mind). Just don't go overboard. For example, entry #7 that I used as a reference from the last thread, has a hat. Although it's more of a symbol than it is an actual graphic. Yet, the hat is what actually made the logo great.

I'm not looking for any complex images, like characters or mascots or anything like that......the rest of my header already takes care of that.

If you choose that entry, you should ask the designer to color in the hat a little bit with a shade of gray (maybe darker towards black) so it isnt like a transparent hat. Just my input.

If I think of something, I might enter.

Speno - This could be easily branded, which I like. However, I get more of a feminine vibe from it. As the design stands now, it's not what I'm looking for.

No, I don't think colors will help. Appreciate the design though!

I might also add that as far as colors go, I like orange, black, red, and silver/grey. So, it's probably a good idea to stick to a combination that fits that description. I also like brighter colors, rather than flat, dull colors.

Speno - Your second entry is a lot closer to what I'm looking for, although still not there, but may have potential. Maybe try changing the font, and doing something with the word "Trend." Also try changing the colors. I like orange and silver/grey, but the ones you gave the logo look a bit flat.

TheSites - Not what I'm looking for. I'm wanting something more for the actual words "Trend Spike." It seems you focused more on shapes to put behind the title. I wasn't really feeling the images either. Appreciate your entry though!

Mansur - Too techy, and doesn't look professional enough. However, thanks for your work!

IM3D - The logo is nice and clean, and I do like simple symbols/icons, which adds to the branding....but it kind of reminds me of a logo that a corporate company would use, rather than a men's magazine. Doesn't really reflect the personality that I want visitors to see when they first get to my site. Nice logo though!

Why is no-one entering this contest? $250 on the line, and about 5 entries, amazing really. I'm gonna try my hardest to make you choose me. Money is TIGHT at the minute, desperate for it! here's my 3rd entry
