Best forum hosting script?

I don't feel like coding my own, so for my new forum hosting service, what is the best forum hosting script out there?

SebFlipper doesn't look like it's been updated lately. If there's a good one for phpbb3, I'd be interested. http://www.phpbbhs.com/index.html looks good, has anyone used it?

My personal preference is SMF (SimpleMachines.org). It's free and it's relatively secure compared to PHPBB.

I don't mean what forum software is the best. I mean what FORUM HOSTING software is the best. Scripts that allow you to run a forum hosting service.

Thanks for reading the first post guys. Your replies were absolutely useless and just go to show how many people simply post to get a higher post count.

    Wow.

Given your superior mentality, perhaps you can figure this question out for yourself without having to ask DP members and then come back to criticize people who responded to your thread. As far as your oxymoronic statement that people are posting here to raise their post count, I suggest you read your post that I am responding to right now before you go off ripping on me or other people who are trying to be helpful.

Again, I will re-iterate, I use SMF for my "FORUM HOSTING" services but since you've taken the high road instead of asking me to elaborate on what script I use for management or how do I use SMF to host third party forums, I'll keep the information to myself because God knows, I don't want to keep responding to this thread to raise my post count.

Good Luck, you'll need it....

If you can afford vB then vB it's the best. After vB comes phpBB. I really don't like SMF...

Well, in my opinion the best forum software is vBulletin. but since you're looking to start your own forum hosting site. i would have to say PhpBB. for a few reasons.

    1. PhpBB as apposed to vB is free, so you don't have to pay for a resellers license.
    2. Since most of your customers would be people that don't know enough about PHP or Web administration to install their own forum. PhpBB is alot easier to use and administrate then SMF. so its perfect for the end-user.

Now, i don't know of any forum hosting software for PhpBB. but i searched google and the best one seems to be

    phpbbhs.com

So, i'd probably go with that. unless your interested in paying for vBulletin. this is your best choice.

Yep. Right. If you can afford vB than don't think twice.
