    Hello !
I would like to say STOP SPAMMING to those directory owners including Muneed who keep on sending e-mails to the clients who does not belong to them.. I have been noticing this for a long time but today I thought better to start a thread to stop this.

I am a directory Submitter and offer Submission Service to DP members and to many other who are not DP members, at the time of submission we have to put the client E-mail for the submission purpose and directory owner can easily get it but the problem is... few of the directory owners are spamming .. They keep on sending their offers with cheaper prices, and it is effecting negatively...my clients are complaining me for this..

I request to those Directory owners who are involved in such practice plz. STOP SPAMMING. Do not try to snatch other's business, Do Healthy Competition.

Do you people feel this is a right practice ??

    Umesh -

Forwarded message, sent and complained by my client again, (many have already complaint regarding this.)

This looks like an advertisement to me? What is the problem with a bit of competition? I've never heard of either of you but see that both of you are entitled to sell the same service.

If you do not like this, then stop submitting site to those directories! After all if you are submitting to them and are providing them with email addresses, they will obviously email their services and other promotional material.

It is indeed bad to do this. It gives a very bad reputation and your business dies before take off. Maybe we need a Directory Owner's Association to monitor these activities:rolleyes:

There's a simple solution to this:

Don't submit your links to sites using free versions of scripts....the spammers will never pay for anything, ever, period.

1.) If we are doing submissions then it is must to provide an e-mail.
2.) We never know who owns which directory.
3.) I have already removed this directory from my List.
4.) I really do not like such kind of directory.
5.) I have never seen such directory owner who does the mentioned Practice Have you ??
6.) I do agree I am providing the e-mail address, and they may approach for their other promotional offers, but it is not good to Spam , I mean we submit many sites in a day and other also, some people keep on storing those e-mails and then start sending the same matter to all those IDs, A directory automatically sends out a confirmation mail after the submissions that is good ...but as I said above few people keep on storing the IDs and then send the same text to all from the personal ID... Is this Good ?? I feel It is a bad practice to get Business from some one..

Agree .. I have already stopped submitting to this directory...removed it already from my list ..

What about SPAM SUBMITTERS bombarding my Paid directories with unpaid submissions?:rolleyes:

I don't have free directories -- but offer free submissions from time to time on DP. I don't forget to announce the closure of the FREE OFFER.

So how come I still get ton's of unpaid submissions?

Being a directory owner, and if I get those submission - I just write to the website owner -- how those offering submissions are cheating their clients because they are submitting to directories which require review fee.

I always send complain to website owners against the submission service and thats my way to fight spammers.

I always have the exact same problem - I probably get about 10 submissions every day even though the free submissions ended 2 months ago:|

Usually they get off with it once, twice - bye bye, you're IP's banned:D

I would like to say : NOT all Figures are same ... No Service provider would ever want to keep a paid directory in his list .. count me:D ,... But few people do so coz. they do not update their lists time to time and to provide a report which shows the full no. of submission they just put the submission in that paid directory too... coz. client rarely checks all the submissions.....These people are having much more free time to Spam..

Correct me if i'm wrong: this is not spamming email, but submission confirmation email from directory that includes service advertisement, isn't it?
If that, I see nothing wrong. I also include few sentences about our tool in my directory's submission confirmation emails. This is one of reasons why we keep it free ;) .

In my above post I said it is good that directory send confirmation mail with their promotional offer, I am not against that... There are tons of Directory owners whom directory I have in my list and submit in their directory but I have never seen a confirmation mail with your thread url (actually part of first post) Have you ?? How many directory submitter have put their thread url in the confirmation mails script ?

I am not here to fight with anyone :) I just requested to all those directory owners...who.. (mentioned above)

From my experience a PM is much more professional than a public thread.

Do agree with you, but I just wanted to request all the directory owners not to do such practice coz. this is not a healthy competition strategy .... The thing which I did not like ...the subject of the E-mail "Subject: Confirmation required for your submission at AppGuides.com" there is nothing to confirm but the thread url and package and price and in last there is a small message which contains no link to click....
Generally a confirmation mail contains a link to click..

Sometimes you just have to name and shame then Mike, its the only way to get through to them. In saying that though I do agree with your little nugget of advice. ;)

I can confirm I've also received mails from these kind of directories - and funnily enough, the email template had been completely ripped apart and replaced with '100 links for $10' type adverts, not a single mention of the actual submission itself.

Can't agree with you totally Jamie.

Yes- sometimes one have to name -but that should be the extreme step --end of road.

What happens if your site comes into my directory or my site is on your directory-- UNPAID submission:(

Do you think - me as a SPAMMER or Will I consider you as a SPAMMER?

    NOOOOOOOO.

I once had this problem with our dear Mikey. He hired a so-called professional submitter ( SPAMMER in my book) -- who submitted Mikey's site on my directory -- which has never ever been FREE.

    What do I do?

I just sent a PM to Mikey and everything was settled. We knew who was SPAMMING whom.

I reckon Mikey has never hired that b.........rd again.

True, there are some real professional submission services. But I had to agree with John Scott here --

Most fail the cutt-off the line.

    @ Spider-Man --
Banning the ID is not the solution --believe me. Because those who SPAM -- use PROXIES.

Best way to fight them is to complain to their clients and their reputations.

    @ Umesh281

I understand you sentiments. But you should fight your peers who SPAM and not directory owners.

Quality directory owners like Rob/Asim/Jamie/Mikey are never ever your competitors. But its because of them that you earn money by submitting sites to directories. Because they keep the market alive "n" kicking.
