To get a higher quality design. If that kind of thing matters to you. All is not relative, i know some that are inexpensive and very good, but you pay more to get something you couldnt have gotten anywhere else. exclusive.

If you look around theres not too many people paying MORE on here for the same thing..out in the world, yes, because this is design, so in theory maybe someone COULD do the same thing for less, but that doesnt mean that person is in the same place, position etc. at that right time. Here we have a forum...Supply and demand doesnt work the same way for graphic design, wholly speaking. And no matter how many $5 logos are made on any forum, no matter how nice they are (and ive seen some good ones) you wont catch marketing vps for fortune 500 companies surfing DP anytime soon looking for individual logos, thank God... I need something to REACH for.:)

Usually the people who charge more offer better service - for example they are willing to make small changes for you, and offer you some prototype designs along the way until you see a concept you like. If you buy a logo for $10, then in most cases the designer will churn out a 'blue logo with a fish picture' if that's what you asked for - and it may be a very well drawn fish, but not quite what you were after.

I've seen some designers who are very good and don't charge a lot, but sometimes people want to pay a little extra just to be able to take up more of the designers time getting a logo that is just right.

Although logos don't mean crap if the rest of your marketing is not put together, you really do get what you pay for.

It's the difference between WWE Wrestling and UFC.

you get custom work, you don't get a bunch of images from google mashed up together that don't even match with a generic font just pasted on it, and someone that will do exactly what you want even if it means several revisions.

It all depends on who or what company is making the logo... I am sure that you can find a freelance designer who can crank out a beautiful logo for $20/$30 whereas you can go with a big company that does thousands of logos which are all very generic and could cost you 5 times more.

lol kangaroobin, next time put all the info in your first post.
    ---
Look at it this way, you see something at walmart for $80
    Yet on eBay its $50

Exact same item, just cheaper on eBay.
    Same with designers/sellers

I don't agree with this at all. A good logo design takes real skill and not just with graphic design. You have to dive deep into a business to figure out the right logo and like I said before a logo MEANS NOTHING without a good marketing plan and reason behind it.

This is not just from a graphic design standpoint, its from a marketing standpoint. Do you seriously think a person who makes your logo in 2-3 hours has a deep understanding about who your business is, what it does, where it's going, and what your business stands for?

    Look at these:
