Hi guys, Well i am new to this forum..So please forgive me if i am posting under Wrong Section. While checking my server http log, i saw new search bot "open i search" who has hitted my blog. since it was 1st time i saw this bot in my logs i had decided to dig more about this.i was surprised when i saw their is absolutely nothing about this search engine on google. Their home site is www.openisearch.com This site have just 2 links and No text Content Only 2 links are indexed from this domain in google check out site:www.openisearch.com and This domain has no backlinks check out link:www.openisearch.com Most Interesting About this....... it has PageRank 2 ???????? Does backlinks really matter ?? does Content of site really matter ??? for pagerank Thier site have absolutely no content nor they have any backlinks and just two links are indexed in google. Then how Come it has got PageRank of 2 ?? DP SEO and webmasters might throw light on this.
yes, i also have the same question well if the page having the backlink to your site has a PR 0 then its no use of that backlink. Isn't this true how far do you agree to this guys!!
Content in the website is really important along with good quantity of backlinks. Place your links in directories, websites with good PR. Also optimize your website, for it to appear in search engines.
May be a so called fake PR. If they used to point the domain to another site(with PR 2 in this case) till last PR update, it could happen. In any case, google don't report all back links.
Ahhh!!! we are getting deviated from post every one knows that Backlink from Quality sites and Content is important for good PageRank BUT my Question Regarding http://www.openisearch.com/ is still Unanswered. Without having any backlink and quality Content... how this site got Pagerank 2

that pr2 might just be because of its own 2 links from its own domain since google cant find any related site with same kind of content ..may be that might be the reason and about getting indexed without backlink can be done with webmasters tool my blog too got indexed without a single backlink you just have to submit sitemap ,may be google consider self domain links in sitemap as backlink thats why they index them without outside link
uhhhh!!! well Akshay do you find any content on that site ???? it has only Images not text at all on that site and indexing is out of Question. Getting index doesn't require Backlink - I mean backlink is not mandatory for getting index. but pagerank is something more then Indexing and only backlink along with Quality Content can give you good PageRank This site is no way following any General SEO phenomena which makes Google to feel Important of PageRank 2 P.S I have strong Instinct that some Blackhat SEO technique being followed to get PageRank
when did i mentioned about content...i just said pr is just because of its 2 links from its own domain i meant the links (which are part of content)
Try checking backlinks with yahoo: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/advsearch?p=http://www.openisearch.com&bwm=i&bwmf=a&bwms=p Google won't show all backlinks. Doesn't seem that strange to have PR2...
Thats a good point I do think the type of links Google takes into account are getting all the more specialized.
