OMG Christopher, you have listening to what I have been saying. I am stunned. I think I might need to lie down for a while, the shock is too great.

I can only see one site which has been added in the category I want to be in, in the last 5 years.

    http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/Travelogues/Around_the_World/

..and these are sites with a very limited shelf life.

Your eyes deceive you :). I won't claim that the category is actively edited but there have been 8 new listings added since January 2007 and rather more QA changes as well.

The thing is that editors work where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the scope of their permissions. That's the upside of a volunteer organisation. The downside from your point of view is that we can't offer guaranteed response times.

OTOH, if none of our around 6000 editors wants to work in the category, it probably isn't very important in the overall scheme of things. If you disagree, be part of the solution and become an editor - not in that category to begin with though because it's too large for a trainee.

    If I say:
Yes I have site in DMOZ from 4 years! (it's true)
then you will think I'm lucky man :D

    But not exactly....
Site was twice deindexed in Google on main keyword!
And now it is deindexed from 8 months almost!
I wrote to Google of course - 3 times (from September)
    No reply

    That's how it is.
This is really ridiculous as there is no reason site is deindexed.
Site is clear, seo friendly URLs, W3C valid, very unique in content.
There is no similar in my country as it is software homepage I develope, software without competitors.
Site not penalized because of paid links, good PR, same good PR on sub pages.

It used to have about 4K visits daily. Once deindexed it is no more than 800.
Site still has some top positions (mostly no.1) on other queries with main keyword included, but searches on main single keyword was over 80% of visits from Google.
Filter means to me about 65% drop of traffic.
On main keyword site is in last 10 of search results. Definitely a filter.

I'm sorry for all details, but this specific site (have much more other) really drives me crazy.

We have 4 live sites, and one of them is listed in DMOZ. Of course, it's the one site that's just sitting there gathering dust.

Tried to resubmit the other three to DMOZ (it's been 3 years) about three weeks ago and the form wouldn't go through. I got frustrated and left.

Will try again when I'm not as crazed.

Don't worry about it. The wait time on submitting and not submitting is just about the same. You tried and that is honestly good enough...

Besides, look around, many (if not most) of the editors around here make it look like they don't even use the submitted queue at all, and many (if not most) want to even get rid of it.

So move on already.... find a list of other free directories, and submit to them. They actually know what a directory is for.

Warning, Warning, Warning Qryztufre misinformation alert.

While some editors here have expressed such an opinion, the reality is that most sites in the directory were originally submitted and that the majority of editors use the queue as a source of sites.

You are a very confusing woman...

Didn't you just say "we are not here to process submissions, and it is a low priority to us" and if you look around here don't most of the posting editors say its not even needed or wanted? So if you'd like to talk about misinformation, then lets talk about how you hide behind a false name to follow me around telling the readers here at Digital Point that following the guidelines is shaky advice.

So thank you for telling us your post was full of misinformation, as mine certainly was not.

Am I seriously going to need to hunt down and quote the rest of the editors on this forum just to prove you are once again trolling? And yes, you are trolling because YOU are the one lying time & time again. Yeah, you can back up your claim with the guidelines but I can point to you saying the guidelines are shaky and then follow that up with a handful of editors all claiming the "gudelines are just that, guidelines" as well as several editors saying they do not use the gueue AND editors showing they strong dislike to the average webmaster... and as actions speak louder then words YOUR actions are helping to prove me right...

    Stop trolling.

New sites aren't listed yet as there are no editors in the specific area. There is one editor at Top but she is Canadian not Filipino and I guess her interest is mostly on Society.

Maybe she needs a kiss of hope. :D

Look Christopher I would like to respond to you in a reasonable way however you incoherent rambling makes it very difficult, but I will try my best.

Actually I said that I thought that was a silly attitude. You better go and reread the other thread
No you are mistaken. The guidelines are not shaky just your interpretation of them. I tell any reasonable person who asks my editor name, its no big secret.
That is one of your biggest flaws Christopher. You take what editors here say as gospel, you do not accept the possibility that they are allowed to have differing opinions. You also have an interesting interpretation of the meaning of troll. You do realize that troll does not mean “someone who does not agree with Qryztufre”

Yes, my biggest flaw is listening to the editors that post here on digital point. I guess you are correct... all that they say is a lie and none of them should ever be trusted. It's certainly good to know that YOU are an editor.

Yes, me saying to read them and follow them was my take on the meaning of the guidelines. it's good to know that YOU feel that reading and following them is shaky.

Kind of proves your point about editors posts not being gospel.

Yep, I got 2 sites listed, from about 15 - at least 10 of them should be listed in their assortment of categories. One I did want listing, the other, well, I didn't even submit it. So, that can only lead me into believing one thing:

NEWSFLASH! The editor in my area has been doing their job properly!
