I bought 9 .asia domains last night. I was very happy with my purchase. That was until Godaddy started to tell me that there were problems with some of the domains I purchased. 5 domains were apparently reserved under the "sunrise1" application. There was no mention of this reservation anywhere on the Godaddy web site. To my knowledge, I had bought these domains as one would normally buy a domain. Question: What legal action can I take if Godaddy refuse me the domains? Any advice here would be very much appreciated. Col
Not sure if you can take legal action it's not like you injured or lost money (I'm guessing you were refunded?) What time did the sale start? What were the other four you secured?
There was a countdown clock on dotasia.org It ran down to zero at 11pm last night...As soon as it hit zero, I purchased the domains at godaddy. The domains were: money shopping health olympics sport all with the .asia extension. I even got a receipt to say my purchase was successful. No refund as yet. But this is just plain unfair. How on earth is reserving the good domains fair? All for the sake of this sunrise site to get a heap of money via their own auction. It's nothing short of a complete rort!
I knew there was a countdown clock and knew this was happening for months and had been keeping my eye on it and then last night I decided to watch a movie and forgot, really annoyed lol! But what were the other four which you didn't lose? It's happened to me before, I registered proxy.cc and then later on they refunded me saying it was already registered and I lost it lol
You needed to show interest in the domains during the landrush period. Premium domains like that would certainly generate interest from numerous people, which then go into auction.
I have also been looking forward to the .asia domains becoming available; however, the resources weren't available to be able to invest as much as I would have liked. I do think your situation is a bit rediculous. I don't think it's fair for people to have the opportunity to reserve the domains before everyone else. I also think that if you weren't through the buying process, and there wasn't any sort of disclaimer about the reserved domains then I would put up as much of a fight as possible to get those domains. good luck
pre public registration at godaddy you regged a domain and they take the money ( its in their terms and conditions ) but it does not mean you have the domain - it may have already been regged to pioneer group / global brand group / sunrise applications / etc etc. even now you can try and reg a city in godaddy and it will let you reg it, only to find out its been "reserved" - i dont think its so much godaddy fault but dotasia - they are clueless - they are just rubbing thier hands now awaiting thr landrush auction in april.
These were already reserved during the sunshine period or what they called it. Didn't you find them in the list on dotasia.org? They had a list with domains that were already gone. PS: Against that you can't take any legal actions
