    Hi guys
    DP rocks

I have this website of mine which was dumped by google with respect to PR-it was kicked from 4 to 2

The serp positions hold good and giving me the traffic since last PR update

On recent checking of my site with webmaster tools, i find google is facing problem in accessing my domain, i was not able to understand what it is

This is the message that i got
    "Verification status: NOT VERIFIED
Last attempt Mar 26, 2008: We encountered an error looking up your site's domain name"

I tried reverifying it with the available options and it didn't work
I have uploaded the html file provided by google webmaster tools, i can see the page in the browser but google webmaster tools gives me the above given error....

Have anyone else who got the google PR slap experienced the same problem, or is it only for me-any help and advice will be appreciated :)

its a broken meta tag - google cannot even write their own scripts properly !!
If you have put the tag on a html page then remove the ' /'
Let us know if you need any help.

Have you checked your source codes on the home page maybe you accidentally removed something that is required?

Sorry to hear that. I agree with kingofsanda. Google requires some basic codes to crawl properly

    yep remove the '/'
The reason you lost your PR/serps is because that broken tag brought the googlebot to a halt and therefore your pages were never properly parsed.
You will now have to wait a couple of months for your site to be fully restored (maybe sooner if you have a higher PR).
There are lots of tricks and ways to help get you back on top and getting to know a friendly google engineer is one of them;)

Actually, the meta tag verification i tried it only today
Usually i use the html page verification and it has been successful till now
So the question of meta tag '/' do not arise here, since the PR dropped in the last update and i tried to do the meta tag verification today

What could be the reasons for it not able to access the domain name
The serps are in tact and holding onto position in the first page since last 5 months or so and have seen two PR updates, there is no drop in traffic or earnings, only the PR went down
