Teonanacatl means the "Body of God" to the indigenous of Oaxaca Mexico, the psilocybin mushroom. Maria Sabina was a shamanic healer who introduced the mushroom to Gordon Wasson, Vice President of the JP Morgan Bank.

Manna From Heaven - Were Mushrooms Used in Biblical Times?

According to John Hopkins Psilocybin mushroom research done in 2006... they found psilocybin to be non-toxic, non-addictive and 1/3 of the subjects who took it said it was the most spiritual experience of their life!

    Mushroom Jesus Manna Exodus 16

Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will vain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law or no (16:4). And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground (16: 14). And when the children of Israel saw if, they said one to another It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.

Some of these mushrooms have hallucination effects if consumed in tiny quantities. Consumption of large quantities may typically lead to liver failure and death. I don't think you can find God in this way. Perhaps you will be able to meet the Grim Reaper.

I find it interesting how mushrooms are cited in the bible:

"Moses also said that the manna is literally the "bread of the lord" which is remarkably similar to the literal Aztec name for psilocybe mushrooms, "flesh of the gods."

IMHO you must have a weak body, I doubt eating too much cheese will kill anyone.

Have you ever tried psilocybin mushrooms before?

When people die it's not from the mushrooms themselves. They jump off buildings and bridges, but this is very rare.

Neuroscientists Find God In Magic Mushrooms

For the Johns Hopkins study, 30 middle-aged volunteers who had religious or spiritual interests attended two eight-hour drug sessions, two months apart, receiving psilocybin in one session and a non-hallucinogenic stimulant - Ritalin - in the other. They were not told which drug was which.

One-third described the experience with psilocybin as the most spiritually significant of their lifetime and two-thirds rated it among their five most meaningful experiences.

In more than 60 per cent of cases the experience qualified as a "full mystical experience" based on established psychological scales, the researchers say. Some likened it to the importance of the birth of their first child or the death of a parent.

    ---

Mushrooms are pretty powerful psychedelic substances and, like LSD, they can dissolve the filter or 'ego' between you and the outside world, leaving you open to a flood of new feelings, sensations and thoughts - both positive and negative. It's not unusual to have insights about yourself, the universe, God, and death in this state. Psilocybin (the active ingredient in mushrooms) was used by psychologists in the 1960s to induce a mystical religious experiences and help people over ruts in their lives.

Nope, I would beg to differ but drug induced religious experience does not strike me as meaningful. Frankly I am against any drug taking be it grass, cocaine or whatsoever. I feel that we should be independent enough not to require the stimulus of such hallucinogenic drugs.

I am not sure about USA, but in NSW
    http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/public-health/dpb/publications/hallucinogens.html

I am not here to say anyone is right or wrong, I do not wish to impose my thinking to anyone and vice versa.

We use hammers to drive nails and we use cars to get us to where we want to go.

What are your thoughts on this below???

    ---

There are a great many people who would never consider the use of visionary plants to be a spiritual experience. These people believe that spiritual experiences must come directly from God and that the use of visionary plants goes against the teachings of the Bible. Contrary to this notion, the Bible never explicitly prohibits the use of visionary plants or potions. What you will find however, is many curious references to a spiritual food sent down from heaven by God, called manna.

The Bible never tells us exactly what manna was and where it came from, but there are many Old Testament passages which describe its physical qualities and conditions associated with its appearance. The Bible's first reference to manna is in the Book of Exodus as the children of Israel are fleeing from Egypt and following Moses into the wilderness. After six weeks of wandering, they began complaining to Moses that they are tired and hungry. What happens next is truly extraordinary:

Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will vain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law or no (16:4). And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground (16: 14). And when the children of Israel saw if, they said one to another It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.

I can use a landrover to drive to my destination. Each have their own opinions and ways of doing things. Moses said a small round thing which can be anything. I would say it is a Dunkin donut.

But we don't care about what the government tells us, do we? The war on drugs is purely a for-profit venture.

If Dunkin Donuts franchises were around then this might be a possibility.

And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning (16:19). Notwithstanding they harkened not unto Moses. but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms and stank: and Moses was wroth with them(16.20). And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating. and when the sun waxed hot it melted...(16:21).

After a day mushrooms get worms and rot, you can also find them in the morning after the dew.

Nope, mushrooms can typically keep for days and certainly not have worms after a single day. Also mushrooms do not melt. The chocolate in Dunkin donuts do melt under the sun :)

Having personally helped out the drug addicts I can say that for once the govt is right on drugs. Drug destroys and many happy families are broken up because of drugs. I myself do not wish to lose control over my own body over a mushroom or toadstool.

BTW maybe the brand Dunkin Donuts does not exist, but who is to vouch that they do not have similar confectionery in their times?

Please see this video for the first 45 seconds and you will find that mushrooms do get worms after a day, and they do in fact melt.

While I agree with you that certain drugs destroy families, I don't believe that they are all bad. Mushrooms are non addictive and all natural.

Who is the government to tell us what is a "bad" drug and what isn't? Why aren't cigarettes and alchohol illegal as well? They kill hundreds of thousands of people each and every year, and destroy far more families than mushrooms ever will.

The keyword here is profit. Beer and cigarette companies make plenty of money while legalized.

The government can't make any money off something that can be easily grown naturally and isn't addictive. They can, however, make a ton of money off of illegalizing it. Same thing holds true for Marijuana, completely natural and has even been found to have a boatload of medical and practical uses.

I'm sure they did have a confectionary like that back then, but did it grow in the wild and could you collect it in the morning after the dew?

I am not sure on how ancient confectionery operates :)

Marijuana has proven medical effects but mushrooms wise I am still a skeptic I guess we have to differ on that.

Psychedelic drugs are being sold legally on the internet. See here and here. Those are just examples, there are many many more. I think eventually the FDA will get them shut down. For the time being, they are open for business. I discovered them about a year ago. I was thinking about becoming an affiliate, and then chickened out. Personally, I don't use drugs.

You can buy Salvia in my hometown in California from the local headshop, it's completely legal. I tried it twice and it was a really intense but short experience. I wouldn't recommend it.
