I see people selling traffic like crazy over on that forum! Any tips on the best way to decide who to use? Any tips on generating targeted traffic in general? There are so many ways and so many resources...aside from your list, what works best for you?
Well you have to be careful with people selling fake traffic which will be via hitfarm, hitsurfer types of sites, they're not always easy to spot either, unfortunately.
Other than organic traffic from SE's I guess Google's adwords is the best in getting targeted traffic.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions! Seems there are so many ways to generate traffic it's hard to decide which to start with first and separate the ones that are legit, etc.
I am thinking to follow the itrader,I would like to do business with people who own nice itraders already.
Please explain this to me a little? Advertising on proxies? I haven't heard of that. Thusfar, my traffic strategies have mostly been social marketing which works for me, takes a lot of time, but it works. That and the software link building method which I haven't been doing as avidly as I should. So many things on my plate! I'd like to start implementing some other tactics too though and I'm really curious about buying traffic...again, just really skeptical. And thanks everyone for your feedback and help!
On some proxy sites you can get links on the index page, or links on the browser page whilst your browsing sites using the proxy, depending on your target audience this might work very well, especially if its for social networking sites.
The best way is definitely SEO, make quality content and build lots of back links and you will rank well.
I consider the organic traffic from search engines (especially google) as the best and it is more productive to improve your adsense earning as it is targeted. Traffic bought is always crap (most of the time) and in no way help you in the long run. Do the SEO and be happy
I always think people should start off with free advertising - once you know you have a product that people are interested in THEN you start paying for advertising, start small, $2 Ezines or Solo ads, save the money you make from sales and reinvest in advertising that costs a little more. It's a slow progression but you shouldn't just through money into advertising until you are sure of the product and sure of the advertiser. There are so many reputable advertising sources why would you give anyone money that doesn't have any reputation?! (unless it's you wife and you are trying to help her get her advertising business started)
Right and that's been my thing. I have yet to pay for advertising (until I am recently running a test Google adwords campaign just because I need to see it for myself and play with it some so I understand it first-hand and then decide if it's for me or not). And almost all of my profit from affiliate marketing and my own stuff gets reinvested into the business. I do need to get to article writing though. I've always been advised to do that and I realize it works well - just seems like I'm always running out of time! But social marketing is my primary traffic method, and works well for me though it takes a lot of time..and the software backlink method, works nice too. I was never interested in paid traffic but I'm always seeing it on these forums so my curiosity peaked and I wanted to find out people's opinions on if this really works. If it works, I might be game on trying it out but I don't have money to throw out the window! I've heard a lot of negativity about it, scams, etc. so.
No doubt SEO is the way to go, just takes a lot of work, and once you've got good rankings youll probably end up having to fight to keep your posistion, cunning placement of keywords and seo-friendly pages will work wonders and definately try to keep your content relevant or youll get slapped by google.
