Getting the "Clicks"

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by grooveman, Mar 25, 2008.

So I have around 190 sites serving adsense ads. With the exception of a few, they are not your typical cheap looking MFA sites. They have content (with good grammar and all words actually spelled correctly), good placement and are relevant to the sites content. I get anywhere from a few visits a day on the newer sites to 100 a day on some of the others. Most of my sites are just a few months old and have many pages indexed.
The obvious problem is the lack of clicks on the ads. Assuming everything else is as it should be, is it mostly just a matter of getting more traffic?

    Thanks

it depends on your ad placement. Make sure the advertisement is in the content [between the content] and not just at the Footer or header

I see about 10 clicks for 100 visitors on my sites, not even placing the ads in the best position.
It might be your placement, your blending, the kind of traffic source, or just your site theme.
Hard to say without a look at your site and knowing the traffic source.

Right. Same thing with my sites before. I had ads only in header and footer. Now they are implemented inside the content with the same colors of the page. CTR is higher now. Have tried to make the ads with different colors from the site, but CTR was lowered.

It depends: in some sites it results one way, other sites, just the oposite.

If you are getting 100 uniques a day and very few clicks, chances are the problem lies in the placement. You should lookup writings by Joel Comm - I learned a lot from him about AdSense!

CTR is a lot determined by the ad placement and blending the ads with the contents :)

Try moving ads around . Keep track of the ad for a week and see if click rate goes up or down. Then move another one and do same thing. Each site is different so play around with ads and see what works best on your site.

With such small traffic it is hard to get good stats. Work up to 500-1000 visitors/day and you might start to see some more stable numbers.

I have one site that gets 200-300 visitors a day, and the numbers are all over the board... One day it earns $10... the next day it earns $1.50...

    Traffic = $$$

Try to get more traffic. And optimize your ads placements.

well all i can say above this is that if your content is so super fly, make it worse, because if visitor gets everything he needs on the page whats the sense in clicking somewhere??

Where does your traffic come from? is the content unique? and what have you been doing to gain traffic for each of your websites?

I was the same a week ago before I got great help on here. I was getting about 200 views but no clicks so I completely changed my placement, colours and type and now I am actually getting clicks.

Not as many as I would like to be getting but enough to give me the patience to continue. I do feel if I can just stick things out for a year or so then it will bear fruit. But deff the right placement is important, just change it about everyday until you find the one that gets the clicks. Good Luck !
