Any experience with In-Portal In-Links directory script?

    Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any experience with the In-Portal In-Links directory script? I am looking at it because it allows reviews and ratings, as well as a homepage that permits a listing of highest rated, new entries, etc., as opposed to a traditional directory page. Any other recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

Out of the box, IndexU does all that or phpLD with some mods added

    Hi,

I looked at IndexU, but I can't seem to get comfortable with the current support for the platform. Since this is a long term investment for me, I would like to partner with a company that seems to be still developing and supporting the platform. It seems kind of dead over at IndexU. Also, the installation of the product and the overall architecture seemed I bit complicated. There were certain requirements that I didn't understand and wasn't sure why they were there. Am I reading it wrong?

I noticed that I might be able to piece together something with phpld, but I hate doing that, becuase of potential support issues and incompatibilities between versions. I would like a very clean script right out of the box. But if you have any sites that you can share with me that demonstrate what I am looking for using phpld, I would be very interested. Thanks.

IndexU have had their share of problems in the past but that seems to be history. The forum is a lot more active recently and it would be worthwhile joining to post your questions there re: installation/config. The code architecture is actually very good, well commented and relatively easy to understand even for a noob like me.

phpLD on the other hand is well supported and has a very active user base.

I suspect 'out of the box', you'll never find an ideal script as there will always be some tweaking/modification required to get it to do what you want.

The latest version of eSyndicat offers what you are looking for with their new plugin system which is part of the base install of the pro version.
