I don't really have significant data, a few dollars per day from Firefox conversions, but the past couple of days I've seen only cents.
They made $55 million in 2006 from Google by having the Firefox default home page show a Google search box. Haven't heard if 2007's numbers are out yet. I wonder if their check gets delivered by UPS or personal courier. -- Leva
As a a matter of fact i have spoken to the people that have installed it and they have assured me that they had never had firefox on their pc and they installed it through my referral link.
Sounds like invalid installs to me. Like you 'asked' them to install it. If this is the case, your conversion rate was probably 100% which is obviously invalid in Google's eyes.
Months of contant installs / conversions, then in past 1-2 days major drop off, despite constant web stats indicating nothing has changed on my end. I think it's got to be either Google error, or change in conversion formula.
Of course, today I see the best day in a week as far as conversions, and they are paying like crap. 25 conversions...only 18 BUCKS IN EARNINGS!!! WTF?
Sucks for all publishers that are affected by this "issue" .. UPDATE: I just received a reply from Adsense (2nd reply) that they are escalating the issue to a 'specialist' to review the problem.
Hey, that may be good news. At the risk of reading in to the response too much, it may mean that Google has realized they have a problem. They still haven't responded to the e-mail I sent them on Thursday. -- Leva
what a joke. only now they escalated it after the problem was feedbacked long ago? lol i just put up a referral button at top right of my blog.
I just wanted to point out that it is also affecting my site which generated a constant stream of revenue from Firefox referrals until about a week ago (started March 19th) when it dropped by about 80% with the same amount of clicks.
Sounds nothing like what you are saying. As a matter of fact, you are allowed to tell people to install the referrals. Not click on the ads but install the referrals. If you did some research instead of just putting someone down, you would have known that.
My guess is that they've started reading MAC addresses or somthing like that & are only paying once per machine. I know if I was them, I wouldn't want to keep paying a dollar every time someone caught a bug looking at porn & wiped their system.
I was never successful promoting Firefox anyway. However I got $1 the other day from a firefox download
Hmm, well my earning have gone down a bit, though i'm not earning a huge ammount from it anyway, i'm now around 40% that's still considerable, in the last 7 days.
