it actually depends on the intention of the server
for normal sites, any of those you've listed are fine

but for high server loads hostings, lik eproxy, those contorlpanels will only make server hinder.
lxadmin and servercp will become betetr ones then.

We use cPanel. I've used DA and Lxadmin in the past, but the interface of cPanel is nicer, and, from an admins point of view, it's more powerful (less time in ssh - woo!)

Best control panel is webmin, second one is lxadmin, third one is direct admin and finally last one is cpanel.

I prefer DirectAdmin as an administrator and as a customer for commercial use. Lightweight, simple, and costs a lot less. I have no experience with LXadmin.

Webmin though, is my favorite as an administrator for personal use.

My choice is Directadmin, it is extremely neat and easy to use with a very small foot print. It build on top of your OS rather than take over the OS completely like in Plesk. It has lesser functions than Cpanel but is much easier to use as a result of not having too many unnecessary functions. Also with Installatron plugin and Sitezen it is as good if not better than Cpanel with Fantastico.

Maintenance wise is also easy, Directadmin upgrades is just a click.

I think this is the problem with cPanel, it's bloated. There are a lot of features people will never use.

Thanks. i personally have used DA, Cpanel, Lxadmin and Webmin.
I felt Webmin and Lxadmin are good for administrator but webmin is not as friendly as Lxadmin.

Letssee were this discussion now goes.

Webmin is steady but it is normally for the system admin who knows what he is doing whereas the commercial ones like Cpanel and Directadmin has a much flatter learning curves.
