OK I am looking for about 2-3 PHP programmers to do on and off work for a project of mine. You will be paid for the work you do but it will not be a continual job. The fact is that I an handle some of the coding myself but some of it I'll have to outsource.

I'm not sure how much I should be willing to pay for this so any member who is familiar with the price range please post your suggestions.

    PM Sent.

BTW if you're not willing to go lower than $8 an hour for work (unless you charge on project basis) please do not contact me as I have many offers in that region.

I agree with phpl33t. $8/hour isn't going to get you much work before they start ripping off and slacking... If you want quality work you'll need to raise the budget a little bit...

a little bit? oDesk rates are around $15/hr. Course $8/hr work probably means job security for somebody to come back and fix it later.

I would gladly take 8$ an hour if I was new to php. Take me 4x a long to code something and I get to learn php on someone elses dine.

Exactly... it's better to charge per project as someone with 10 years experience might be able to code 10 times faster than someone with 1 year experience so you might be able to pay an experienced programmer the same as an inexperienced programmer over the duration of the project and you'll end up with better quality code.

continuing the discussion a little further....

Experience along with professionalism of a firm make a deadly combination of quality and turnaround time....

    What say...
