Dear all, I currently run a phpBB2 forum for my site which has thousands of posts on it. However, the search engines like Google for instance, only seem to index a small percentage of the posts. How do I get the search engines to index all the posts? Is there a way? I notice that this forum, the digital point forum, is very well indexed and almost every post shows up when searched for in google. How do we do it? Thanks, W

Thanks, but this isn't just about my site, but specifically about FORUMS. How does google index forums exactly? Does it index every post? The posts here on digital point seem to all get indexed.
My dear Friend You are right google indexed each and every page of DP beacase it has millions of traffic per day right. Secondly I never say like other, I never say before implementing. My policy is read, understand, implement, result and finally pubish it. so take one example check your backlink in backlinkchecker if you have 100 post in DP forums then that will show 100 backlinks with different URL in the report. Cool Mate and Enjoy your day
I have seen this on my sites too. Google index only part of the site, but when I put a link on PR4 site, the next day google was indexed the whole site. I think it also depends on the site age, if it's new, probably won't get indexed on 100%
I don't think PR make any sense for indexing the web pages. Traffic towards to website could be the most possible reason.
Hi just reading this thread and found the link to (how get google crawl website blog) interesting and informative. Thanks!
I have a fairly new forum, not lots of posts yet or members but googlebot, slurp are almost always there when i check, always indexing. Its running on MyBB.
normally google not index 100% pages all web sites or forums. Index depend on internal page structure and back links. better create google sitemap and feeds. But don't expect 100% forum page index.
Correct. PR does not make any sense in indexing, the internal PR is normally related to your SERP, but the one that google toolbar shows is just a random number picked up from the nowhere, too inaccurate to be trusted. A tip on indexing is to have one single backlink from average site pointing to yours before you launch it, be sure the crawler will reach the site almost instantly that way. Even a link on a forum can help for this, im not sure if these here are nofollow or follow. After you get indexed, submit a sitemap through google webmaster tools, but never, remember NEVER submit your site during the tools, wait for google to find the site first with the above methods, and then submit it.
