A link building outline for new domains

Currently I'm building links for a domain I just started but it isn't indexed on Google yet so I am curious if I am going a bit too fast.

Currently my tactics should result in about 500-1k links per week (about half of them are on individual pages with PR 3-6 for free, won't say how). The other half I will get through article submissions to both ezine and isnare (which presumably will also be republished a handful of times).

I have also hand submitted to about 500 directories and built ~100 social bookmarking backlinks, plus it is in my forum signature which results in ~500 links once Google gets around to re-checking them all.

So overall I'm looking to build at a rate of 1k links per week eventually, is this far too fast for a new domain to be building backlinks for Google and Yahoo? I know that Google can be very picky with the rate that backlinks are built and I don't want to be penalized early on and find myself in the sandbox for 10 months.

If I should speed up, what other methods should I implement?
If I should slow down, what methods should I drop and by how much?

500-1k links per week? That's not realistic.

You seem to be missing blog commenting in your links building strategies.

yes, blog comments are a good way of building quality. i just done a review on my blog regarding a free piece of software ( obvious plug )

okay 1k per week can be done easy, however i would spread out your anchor tags and submit a load of deeper links as yes, dont wake up the monster that is called google :p

So blog commenting is considered in a link building strategy? I was to assume that dropping links on blog comments was frowned upon?! ...I'm not being a smarta.. just looking for information

I think you should tell us more about your 1k links per week link building method. :D

I think 1k per week is ok. I have a new domain 2 months ago and i built 10k links in 1.5 months.

Thanks all, and if I were to mention how I build backlinks I would no longer be able to do it, it's a fine line that isn't sustainable by a whole forum of webmasters ;) I did happen to get indexed (on the 19th according to google) which was the same day I started building links so I think I must be on the right path.

To the blog commenting post I look at that as a form of spam, it can add content if done responsibly but it has been abused to the point where 99% of blogs are now no-follow and the do-follow blogs are stuck up lists for people to bombard looking for free links.

And mrmrdan it is very realistic to build backlinks at this rate, you just need to think outside the box, if you do what everybody else is doing you will get the same results as everybody else.

Keep link building slowly for new websites as google sandbox really exits.

Building that many links that quickly will do more harm than good in Google's eyes.

Your link building speed is unnatural.

    You should slow down.

500 - 1000 seems quite high. This would only be appropriate if these were actually natural links.

You might've got confused on another thread with people saying not to spam other people's blogs.
Basically, make it a valuable comment.

You should slow down on links and add more over time. This many links that fast could cause a problem with google.

My point is that how exactly would Google know what is natural and what is not? A large portion of it has been done through link baiting, which I consider to be a natural tactic, the rest comes from directories, article sites, social bookmarks, and classifieds, all of which are processes that would naturally spring up for a website (maybe not classifieds but I only have about 30 links from this).

Building 1000 backlinks per week may be to fast for a new site. You should build backlinks slowly at first.
