How do you do this keyword matching?

    Hi All,

I would be grateful if someone could help me out on this one. I am promoting a dating software. Now if I use:
    [dating software]
    "dating software"

as my keywords, I will also show up for just the keyword dating or dating blah blah. Now, how do I avoid showing up for just dating?
The problem I have is a lot of clicks are coming from the keyword dating so instead of someone taking an interest in my dating software, a lot of people are signing up as members on my demo - which is what I didn't really want.

If I use the negative keyword -dating, then none of my good keywords like [dating software] "dating software" will show up.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

    Regards
    Anwar

You use exact match keywords, such as [dating software]

    Hi dcristo

    Thanks for a quick reply.

You mean use [dating software] and leave out "dating software" altogether?

well if you use exact match keywords, you will not come up for "dating" searches, only the specific keywords you are targeting.

if you use "dating software" then your ad will display for searches like

    dating software review
    online dating software

    etc

I've used "dating software" and [dating software] but i have noticed from my logs that I come up for dating only as well.

Not sure if that should happen.

if you are getting matched to dating when bidding on dating software then

use a negative exact match to neg out dating.

don't use a broad neg match of dating because then you will neg out your bidding keyword as well.

Yeah, negative exact match will take care of your needs. However, I would also point out that if you use "dating software" or [dating software], you will already not match the simple keyword dating.
