I hate the, "PM me for..." and "I've sent you a PM" threads. Review feeders (I'll leave an honest review). People that say the exact same thing that you've just said (Didn't I just say that?). eBooks with false claims (Make $xx,xxx in 5 minutes). Bad punctuation (Don't space periods!). "I've used false information, now my PayPal account is limited" or "PayPal sucks because someone did a chargeback." threads. "I have X amount of money, how should I spend it?" and "I need to make X amount of money in a day" threads. I could keep going lol, but I'll hold it back.
There's a few things that have annoyed me, but I'm not going to waste my time making suggestions as they'll probably be ignored.
Its a matter of database space and server resources too. They add no value to the forum in terms of quality discussion. They just make DP look like a link farm. The scammers also annoy me. They are usually the little idiots that arn't wise enough to make genuine money. Also the kids annoy me. I'm pretty much a kid myself, but I like to think I can at least write a proper English post rather than what some of the kids post in the BST section. The kids that are like "Hello Sir I wud like 2 sell u a link on my new PR3 blog for only $1 a year" really bug me. They want to make money online yet don't act professional and usually PM/IM spam me. The other thing that annoys me is the fact we can't appeal to infractions. I am happy that the mods have pulled me down for some of my crimes but there are others that I would happily dispute, and I've suffered over a matter of opinion.
I would to have an arcade section, built within vbulletin. I have seen several other forums, with this feature.

Sure it isn't a secret from the admins & mods at DP that the ODP section is pretty much a worthless trolling ground. I don't have a dog in that fight since I'm not an editor there now and not a disgruntled ex-ed either... just found other things to do with my time... but because I'm employed in the directory industry elsewhere I try to keep up with related forums. Just not that one. Until it gets some swift justice moderation it'll remain worthless. Since ODP still (for better or worse) figures mightily in Google's formula, some will seek information. Anyone seeking information on that topic here is destined to be drowned out by existing rivalries that have long since ceased to be directory related. I'd hoped DP would see a need to fix that, but until then there will be people that have unresolved questions. I even offered to moderate it if they didn't want to task someone else there (I don't blame them for avoiding it, it wouldn't exactly be a fun read), but please... someone do it. I'm not looking for a power trip and I have plenty to occupy my time without it... just please clear the trolls out. It's a waste of bandwidth as-is.
Every one has some reservations about dp and I dislike more number of useless and crap threads posted here
I hate the "what is the color of your basement door knob" just to make the schmilblick going forward And also, I hate the "I'm selling a 1,000,000 uniques/day site but guess what: I just change hosting and have no stats. So the new one that I have shows 2 hits so far. Too bad but I promise, it's 1,000,000 uniques every day" with "Adsense is probably around $2,000/day but I'm not sure because I put my charity PUB code"
This place is scam central. And the fact that you buy article writing and actually pay for: "cat r fun animal cuz they pur n they love theyre owner" Not to mention the fact that there are so many people who "wonder" why Ad Sense banned them after they clicked on their ads and why their new accounts keep getting banned. Or when I say in a thread "PM for more information" and users reply with "I'm interested, send pm with more information"
