    We have 3 servers at the moment 1 has 6 gb and the other 2 has 4 gb

    all my notebooks have 2 gigs. My old PC has 1 GB RAM but it need upgrade.

    FAIL! 3 gigs of anything is crap, your basically running 2 gigs right now. You need to change it to 4 gigs to get the most out of your ram.

    You can have up to 32gb if you are using 64-bit operating system.

    The only reason I have 3 is that I am running 32-bit Windows Vista and 32-bit operating systems can only use up to 3.25 gb.

    I run safari , windows media player, photoshop cs3, dreamweaver, yahoo, msn, aim, xfire instant messengers all at the same time, no problems :)

    I remember when a few years ago a friend of mine spent £3000 buying a supercomputer that had a whopping 1gb ram. I now have 2 and need more :)
