I find it that he has no talent at all. He probably just wants attention because that's the only way he'll make money because both his voice and his song lyrics suck. I feel bad for idiots like him.
Wouldn't exactly call this newsworthy, any more than Stormfront and other neo-nazi groups who have sung the praises of Ron Paul throughout the man's candidacy. Not sure, but I think I might classified this under classic "Guilt by Association." Lots of morons want lots of people to win. Are we to care about them, or the candidates and their candidacies? Next.
I respect freedom of speech, especially when it comes to writers. I just found this and it made me laugh, did you see those titles? One thing I should say is the powers to be in Egypt don't support him, in fact they have tried to censor him to a degree. So, I hope no one will take this thread as any negativity towards Egypt.
Just joking, Obama breathes fresh air into an otherwise stale atmosphere at the current political establishment. Just that the on going accusations strikes a bit of an uncertainty in me. His Pastor as well as he being alleged as a closet Muslims etc. Though it was well refuted, I still have that tiny lingering doubts, I must say that his opponents have already perfected the arts of mud slinging.
Wisdom Tool: I don't really care for Obama, Hillary or McCain. The main thing I question about Obama is all of his economic promises domestically and in other countries. I think our national debt is about 9 trillion, but he is promising so many welfare type programs. With his pastor, I'm not sure what to think. I thought he went to that church and listened to him for 20 years. Supposedly, they were so close. Then when the media starts to publish things the pastor has said, suddenly Obama wants to pretend like he is shocked. I don't know. Hillary and McCain don't seem to be any better. I am not voting for any of them. Paul: You do not need to get so defensive. I didn't publish this to take a stab at Obama. If that were true, I would be trying to get Hillary to win. Yet, I think I dislike Hillary even more than Obama.
The thing about his Pastor is what worries me. 20 years and he did not stand out to condemn till today seemed to be weird.
Rebecca, it's a statement of fact, not a defensive posture. This is as ridiculous a thing as the plethora of nazis coming out for their support of RP being an indicator of RP's support for neo-nazism and white nationalism. Apparently I wasn't alone in wondering whether this thread was an attempted comment on Obama. Ay any rate, not newsworthy, to me, so I said so. You'll forgive me if I raise the question as to the worth of a thread such as this?
It is related to politics and it interested me. I posted it because this is the politics and religion section. Would you be in this thread repeatedly posting this is not newsworthy if the song was about McCain? What is the worth of the majority of these threads in P & R?
But I thought this was just a funny bit, bringing you to laugh; nothing really substantive or "related to politics" that interested you? Repeatedly posting? Rebecca, as a writer, I'd think precision is something you value...an original response, a response to your apparent triggerpoint declaration of "defensive," and a response to questions you ask directly of me, seems to me a reasonable thing. You posted a thread about a freak coming out in his support for Obama, and I, and others, responded. As I read it, anyway, a few of us might have felt you were making a bit of a referendum on the man by referencing the loon that supports him; and a few responded accordingly. A quick scan through "Ron Paul" on the forum will yield a treasure trove of similar responses, if this provides you a measure of comfort in seeing that this isn't a gross anomaly. If this were what I felt was a worthless thread about McCain, or RP, I'd do (and have done) the same thing - we have enough of this kind of tactic going around on every candidate out there, and none of us should be engaging in it. Now, with limited time and energies, I wouldn't be waving the banner on an RP thread or McCain thread, any more than most who support other candidates beside Obama have been curiously silent about the obvious garbage being tossed Obama's way here. But I have made my view known - every candidate deserves to be evaluated on the merits. At any rate, knock yourself out, Rebecca. For true humor, go to the Onion thread - "Black Guy Asks Nation for Change."
Obama has had the most endorsements, overall and recently, I’m guessing he’s going to win. He also has an endorsement from celebrity Ben Afflick, and recently from a Mexican Governor, don’t quote me on him being a governor, could be a senate. I guess he’ll win this election; so much people seem to want him in.
Even if he own the democrat endorsement, he still needs to face John McCain, it is still too early to say
Wow , shaboula made it all the way to DP. Come on folks, I live in Egypt and this guy is just a joke down here, he is not a singer in any way, all people say he got no talent what so ever, he only uses the same writer for all his songs, with the same tunes, no change at all. As he once said, he record his full album in one day. So I don't really think he will affect Obama's popularity.
That's funny. I tried to get his lyrics, but I couldn't find them in english. Oh well, probably better that way.
that's is totally true, no body cares to write his songs down even, so I don't expect any of his "lyrics" translated to any language.
I agree, I been in Egypt and nothing annoys me more than hearing that singer, if it is correct to call him a singer, he became famous not by talent cos he does not have any, but because the lyrics ( I hate Israel ) after which he appeared on CNN and BBC.
