Just got back from the doc's office, and had to brag to someone about this... Sorry to all the bored webmasters that read this post I used to have semi-high blood pressure and cholesterol, for years... Then like 6 months ago I turned into a vegetarian... A couple weeks ago I went to the doc to get a checkup, he took a urine and blood sample, and did all the tests on it... Perfect! The doc was actually amazed at the difference, and other than my eating habits, nothing has changed... I'm not over weight or anything, but just used to eat meat like every day, now I only "cheat" like once a month... I feel more energetic and, as far as the doc is concerned, in great health... Not trying to convince anyone in hopes of saving some cows, but i'm sure a lot of people would benefit health-wise.... Just wanted to bring this up, as before I turned veggy-lover, I had never heard that it was really that healthy for you... Now back to the normal schedule of "I just reached 1,000 posts" and "Why did adsense ban me?"...
Wow tarponkeith, glad to hear the fantastic results!! My sister is a vegetarian and she always tries to get me to turn vegetarian. She is super healthy and in great shape despite all the chocolate she loves to eat.
I like continuation dots too... Meat is proven to be good for you in certain amounts, it's just that most people eat way too much of it.
Thanks, and I love chocolate too; I eat WAY too much of it, and justify it by recalling a news story I heard a while ago about how special dark chocolate is good for your heart Haha, sorry... It's a bad habit of mine; the girlfriend makes fun of me all the time for it... Darn, did it again... Agreed, that's why I cheat like once a month... And if I ever have that craving for meat, I eat it... But I also supplement my diet with protein and vitamins (should have mentioned that in the first post)...
I heard that being vegetarian is good for health, just make sure yours is not insecticide laden Also eat more soy beans they are needed to replenish your proteins as a vegetarian diet normally lack essential proteins. This is for your advice only for me, I would die without beef steak
Being a vegetarian has lot of merits especially health benefits. Vegetarianism is the key to long, happy and healthy life -Dairyman
being vegetarian does't automatically make you healthy. Mac & Cheese, fried potato (or baked w/ cream cheese) or salad with tons of salad dressing can be bad for you too balance is always the key to healthy life.. i am a vegetarian too.. and keep up the protein is kind of hard..
Well done! I was a vegetarian for two years. It was bloody hard to do. After the two years I had the flu and for some reason got cravings for a meat pie. I caved in and haven't been able to stop eating meat since.
CLASSIC! I'm starting to ease up on my eating habits. Starting to get a bit worried for the long run. Damnit!
Good for you!!! I have almost the same problem as you used to have...but I looove meat...I can't quit eating it...though my wife doesn't eat meat
Congratulation! It's great to know your turning into a vegetarian. I'm trying to be a vegetarian also. I find it's very helpful. I feel healthier everyday..
I think a vegatarian lifestyle can be very healthy if you do it right however I am very against people forcing their pets(dogs/cats) into the vegatarian lifestyle since they are carnivorious, humans are omnivores and can survive with no meat. Meat does give ayou a very nice big protein/energy dump though.
I'm not a total vegetarian or vegan (person who doesn't eat or use any animal products milk and fur coats included!), but in the past 3 years or so I have really concentrated on making healthier choices. The one thing about eating meat nowadays is that the conditions that the animals live in very poor. This not only affects the animals health but their muscles and meat too. So when you injest this into your body you take on their diseases and illnesses. They just had a 143 million pound recall on beef http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xE83wbPN7-g
I want to be a lacto vegetarian but I just love hamburgers and meatballs and stake too much And besides that, I could never become a vegetarian as long as I live with my meat loving parents.....they buy the food.....
People who force their (carnivore) pets to become vegetarians are insane. And i am a vegetarian myself, just for the record.
