Newbie Question: I constantly hear that search engines love new content. Sometimes, it's difficult to add fresh content to a website (blogs are easier). Do search engines consider news embeds such as those offered by voxant, as fresh content?
If you are pulling the content initially and then post it on your site, that would work. However, most embeds are usually some sort of a script on your page, which pulls content from the source on the fly. In this case, all the Search Engine sees is the script on your page, not the actual content. So it is of no use to your site.
No, and you shouldn't be changing the content on your web pages, you should be making new web pages with new content.
Hurm... if the code is pulling the content like the RSS feed or something like that then I don't think it will help the SEO to rank any better.
How about updates? Is it advisable not to change a post? I read somewhere else that updating a post is both good for search engines and your readers.
As far as I know updating pages content on a regular basis is a good SEO practice. Note I said updating not completely replacing...
It will work if the code is server side (php) as opposed to javascript & doesn't leave a footprint (such as a comment tag).
