Do reciprocal links hurt?

Do reciprocal links hurt? I have found it very difficult to get reciprocal links compared to when I had a site back in 2004. Are search engines, specifically Msn, penalizing reciprocal links?

One way links are useful. Reciprocal links don't worth much.

They can fine if they are related content. If your site or page is about basketballs, don't link with a site or page about toasters.

Also, limit how many reciprocal link you do. It's fine, per Google, if not done in excess.

Re Google: It doesn't hurt (ie., you get penalized) but it doesn't help either. No benefit. The best way to do recips nowadays is through a 3 way link exchange.

Reciprocal links are devalued by google that's why one way links are better.

Go for one way links and if not possible, then three way links proves useful :)

recips are still great for traffic imo, maybe 3 way linking or even 5 way linking will better suite your needs

Reciprocal links will not harm your site as long as they are coming from a website that is not blacklisted and has similar content.

Or if they are not too many. I mean, don't make a link-farm with your website.

There is a search engine called MSN??? OMG!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

lol... MSN Sucks! Who cares bout MSN!

    Go google...

Reciprocal links doesnt hurt, it is either neutral (for same pr sites) or positive (when exchanged with a higher PR page) or negative (for a lower PR site exchange).

Nowadays, reciprocal links are not valued anymore, and may even hurt you.

Well, actually there is an MSN, but I think this topic would be better posted in Links section of the forum. :)

P.S: Being number one of MSN means very little. Hardly anyone uses MSN, it seems.

One way links are always best as you are not going to add one more outgoing link to your site or blog..
In case of link exchange, we have to link back to a site with which we want to trade links. Reciprocal linking process is very tedious and time consuming process

A three way link is when you get a link for website A on website B, you then place website B's link on website C. That is the best way I can explain it.
