Domain forwarding SEO question...

I have a website and a certain keyword I would like to rank higher for. My domain does not have the keyword in it but I own another domain with just that keyword. I was wondering what would be the best way to benefit from that domain. Should I setup a hosting on a different server with a different IP and a page with the keyword pointing to my site or just a 301 redirect directly to my site?

    For example:

Keyword.com > Page with link to my site

    or

    Keyword.com > 301 redirect to my site

Which will be the best for SEO?

In theory they both would be equal. Regardless which method you use you'll need to build backlinks to either the domain name or the one web page (which would be the domain anyways) to give it any value. You can however transfer your website to the domain with the keyword in it and 301 redirect every web page to it's new URL. This would transfer over any Pagerank, SEO Weight & Search results from the old domain URLs. It will take some time before it's all transfered over, but you "usually" end up with the same Pagerank and search results in due time.

I'll try this again. If you move your website to the new domain and 301 redirect every old web page URL to the new web page URL you'll transfer over your SEO weight and Pagerank. You'll see the results during the next visable Pagerank update. You'll still get the same organic traffic since the old URL will still show in results and 301 redirect everyone to the new page. The method your thinking of will provide little to no value and just be a waste of money to run the site.

sorry but something i am saying is sending you in the wrong direction

the new domain is the keyword i want
the old domain is the site which i do not plan to change
the new domain which has the keyword i want can help me gain higher SERPs

what will be the best way to get the most out of the new domain?

new hosting with a different IP that contains a link to my main site or a 301 redirect from the new domain to my current site?
