2nd Most Widely Used Search Engine - Submit Your Blog To Baidu

Discussion in 'All Other Search Engines' started by bloggingmix, Mar 21, 2008.

Baidu, the second most widely used search engine in the world is another potential source of traffic for your website. As English is increasingly becoming popular in China, English blogs and websites are also becoming in demand. Get your share of the Chinese traffic by submitting your website to China's most popular search engine.

SUBMIT YOUR BLOG TO BAIDU - Submitting your blog will take you 5 SECONDS. Don't worry if you don't understand Chinese as a simple instruction is included. Why don't you see for yourself.

    Happy blogging.

if you have problem with Chinese language, try Google Language Translator.
& check this link, all in English.

I tried to search your site in Baidu, but didn't find.

    Weird... I had known about Baidu before but had never given thought to actually submitting my URLs to them directly {Bangs head on desk for missing the obvious.}

Thanks for the write up with the English instructions.

Well here is a shocker!! You can submit your site to Baidu, Sina (the yahoo of China, not literally!) or Yandex (The Russian God of Search engines) and you can even have a translator in your site which is chinese, but, baidu won't list your site or blog cause it doesn't accept english sites. I submitted twice already almost six months ago once and 3 months later. Nada! You just have to have chinese content or focused information related to China (no one or two, three blog posts about the beauty of great wall won't do either!).

Hmmm, well blogger has a translator option on it now. I'll have to experiment and see if I can get my blogs accepted. Thanks for the reminder, I too tend to forget about the non-English speaking traffic.

I'm sorry that things didn't work well for you. After i submitted my blog to Baidu, I started to notice some traffic coming from them. I don't think that Baidu's algorithm has been set to only index blogs/websites with chinese characters in it. Baidu can also be used to search for English terms. Try searching Blogging in Baidu and you'll get a bunch of result.

You started to receive some traffic cause in blogcatalog you are listed in Chinese Blog Entries // Blog Post Tag Search // BlogCatalog and your site doesnt turn up in the search results at all.

Just baidu on yourself and you will see what I am talking about.

    http://www.baidu.com/s?wd=blogging+mix

Its not on chinese characters only, the site can be english but it has to end either with .CN or the hosting servers have to be located in China or a chinese blogger (with good PR) have to link you accordingly from his blog.

Either way you are not directly listed in Baidu, but the blogcatalog thing is and thus you got some traffic indirectly from Baidu.

    Cheers!

Interesting. Thanks for this information. I checked Baidu and I was surprised that my blog isn't listed or it didn't return in the result. I guess I'll have to try submitting it again.

    Cheers. :)
