Just clearing that up in case anyone is still confused about where Jesus stands on Islam. I asked if you believe he rose again. And I asked if you believe he died on the cross. You don't believe he died on the cross. Do you believe he rose again from the dead on the third day?
He stands as a true prophet, Isa, like Mohammed, not any other higher figure that contradicts with monotheism. As for the question, i don't believe anyone is responsible for my sins but me. (Oh my 1,000th post haha)
Then you reject Christ. And you still havn't answered my question: did he rise again on the third day? Did Mohammed rise from the dead?
I have no idea what logic that is. It's a "yes" or "no" question. Do you believe Jesus rose from the dead? It's a simple question. Why is it so hard for you to answer? You either believe he did or you believe he didn't.
Logic is, Jesus is accepted as a prophet in Islam, plain and simple, that's what this talk is all about. Rising from death, dieing on cross, and other events do not validate or invalidate his prophecy. You answer please; had he died in a different way, or not rise from death, would you not believe in him or the Bible? Since you put that in the center.
yes. What a coincidence that I'd talk about it now... So the preaching of the cross is the power of God. If he had been shot then Christians would use the symbol of the bullet. If he had been cut with a sword then we'd use the symbol of the sword. But, that symbol is already used anyway. So God chose to have his son die on a cross. A symbol that can not be confused as militant. Bullets and swords would send the wrong message to unbelievers. A cross makes people ask questions because it's such a terrible way to die. And people want to know why you would wear one. So if he didn't rise again then there's no point believeing in him because he was a liar. Jesus claimed he would rise from the dead. If that didn't happen then he was a false prophet. Why don't you answer my question now?
He will be sent back again, in that perspective, it can be said that; Muslims believe, in a way, he will rise from death. Still, the bottomline is, he is accepted as a true prophet, and not rejected.
Jesus said he would rise on the third day. So if he didn't then he's a liar and not a prophet. So why wouldn't you reject him? That would make you the follower of a false prophet...nevermind. The Bible says if he is not "risen" past tense, then your faith is in vain. If Jesus' bones were found then as the Bible itself says, there's no point being a Christian. I imagine that a lot of Christians would switch to Judaism if not just give up religion entirely.
Absolutely agree... Jesus will be sent back to Earth, so that he can lead his people, against evil. But why Jesus? Because he is the only prophet who has not tasted death. How could such a man die a horrific and painful death? God loves Jesus, and couldn't let than happen. Thats why Jesus could rise on the 3rd day again. Thats why he is destined to return to us. He will rule the world.
Kalvin, I suggest you read Crucifixion or CRUCIFICTION? by Ahmad Deedat, it sheds clear light on the fact that it would be impossible for Jesus to have been crucified in the circumstances presented in the bible.
God loves us and so does Jesus. That's why God sent Jesus to die a horrible death and Jesus willingly went through with it. Rejecting that is rejecting Jesus and God. Think about it, Jesus went through all of that for you and now you're saying "no he didn't." Real nice. It's right up there with telling a holocaust victim that it never happened. I suggest you read a book. No legitimate scholar denies that Jesus lived and was crucified. Even atheists with admit that much. The only legitimate questions are whether or not he rose from the dead and whether or not he was the biological son of God. One of Ahmad Deedat issues is that the apostles carried real swords. Of course they did. Everyone who had brains and traveled carried a sword. Jesus didn't because he was God and knew exactly where to be and when to avoid trouble. Humans don't have that ability. Why do you think everyone in the old west carried a gun? Was it to force conversion? No, it was to avoid being robbed, hurt or killed. Why do you think monks carried walking sticks? It wasn't just to help them walk.
Yes of course. Ahmad Deedat is a Muslim scholar of Comparative religion, an author, lecturer, and an orator. He was best known for witty inter-religious public debates.
