Long time back -- DP's directory section was not as subdued as it has become these days.

We had lots of useful discussions along with some off-beat discussions.
But these days - its missing.

So here is a topic --

Show The best Referring (awastats) sites without revealing identity of your directory (precautionary measure against Google trollers.:()

I go first -- with awastat stats of one of my directories -- ( I know awastats has lots of faults --still...................)

As you can see --there is one PO...O site sending me traffic:eek:!

I never know how these things are done --but Google might penalize me for bad-neighborhood.:D

    They are not real hits.
They are Awstat spam robots. :(

    Lol-- :)

But I find it amusing though Google might ban my site any time for neighborhood.

My point is -- others can sabotage your sites/directories

So don't reveal it --

I know what you mean, i agree too, we dont need anymore stress on our heads :) good advice, need to protect what you can.

They do say that we cant be held responsible for who links to us, in cases of unwanted links, but its still a bit of a concern, even though they say not to worry.

Thinking about that, theres no way we can deflect an unwanted link, virtually wide open to it.

    Lol mikey--

I could have recognized the stats even if you didn't have an identity on your second screen shot.

You might want to erase it:p

Besides - I am a SERPs freak and I always encounter your 1st site for the research I do for my personal satisfaction.:D

    Lol mate --
You could have at least edited your post:eek: if it had something that is objectionable.

But its just some light hearted thread -- and at the same time sharing some views casually. Nothing serious.:D

Yeah that was pretty easy to find :D I'm a team player so see no harm in posting stats.

Oh. You like to dream of those things ;)

What i was going to post is that someone (not sure if its a guy/girl/it) decided to add our banner on a "tranny site"

Yes it freaked me out and we tried contacting them to remove our banner immediatly but couldn't find any info to contact them,
but in the end they send over "4000" uniques monthly from that site .... so hey.... whatever

    thx

Only if you're inexperienced enough to link to your stats pages. Referrer spam only exists to exploit those who are, after all.
