The reason why many people hate a country is usually because of the misadventures of it's leaders and government.

I would say that everyone or most of them love their country, it is the establishment that they oppose. Being an opposition does not mean you do not love your country, just that you have different views on how the country is being run.

I like USA but I don't really like Bush, same reasoning.

Ummmmm I doubt that there's too many people anywhere in the world that trust their governments. Funny thing is that like 50-60% vote for someone and month or two after elections same people that have been elected have approval rating less than 30% lol

There is nothing wrong with not trusting your government. Love the laws, the history, the people, the culture.

But the government? What government are not a bunch of crooks? What government doesn't lie and steal?

100 years ago, people didn't trust government or banks. They were a LOT smarter back then.

Government is ok just ensure that there is enough checks and counter checks so that no one will derive absolute powers.

All governments grow. Problem => Reaction => Solution

Governments never willingly cut departments or check themselves.

Unfortunately, it is the job of the people to hit the reset switch every couple of hundred years. Maybe the next time around, someone will be smart enough to put a reset switch in a country's constitution.

We tried in the US with the right to a redress of grievances which dates back to the Magna Carta. Now US courts are saying that they do not have to provide a response to a list of grievances, which runs totally counter to the spirit and history of the right.

But again, a government never checks itself, and they just continue to grow.

Yours as well. I can tell you have an open mind and look at things from every possible perspective. People generally aren't like this.

Good question! I have no idea lol.

    lol my response too....

I used to think when I was younger that the powers that be were in good hands. Now it scares me to know that this is probably not the case.

    Cash rules everything around me.

Thats why external checks is important, every single voter plays a part in the monitoring system in a democracy.

As we've seen in this election cycle, the corporations who control the media, control the elections.

Candidates like Ron Paul, Duncan Hunter, Mike Gravel, Dennis Kucinich have platforms that resonate in blind polls, but they can't build any name recognition because they aren't establishment candidates.

Ultimately, you end up with establishment #1 vs. establishment #2.

Democracy sucks because reaching the majority with all perspectives, all of the information, gets harder the larger the group.

Information is power.. I remember tesla talking about how the internet is the wild card which nobody can control (except maybe Google in a way, but people can still pick search results I guess?).
