Hello I am designing my website and only source of availability to me for the images is either search engine or making it myself. I am in fact good in logos but am not getting time. While searching in search engine ready made images I found one image which is just perfect to what i want over my website. But it is used in some other domain as the header image.. So my question is can i use that image in my website also because i really love that image. Please let me know if any one has any option for this coz i can copy that image and edit it to use I am good in doing that but just confused that is it right to do or not????
Why are those images the only source of availability. Just use a stock photo site... istockphoto.com there are free ones as well.
Depanding on what you want there is another good resourse like istockphoto.com a web site called Dreamstime.com
Email the web site owner for details, if it is his own, ask if he is willing to give you the rights to use it and at what price?
Yea, it's always better to ask the actual owner. The image is copyrighted unless otherwise stated. So, if you can't find a license allowing you to use it, I wouldn't use it without the owners permission.
I have a web site with thousands of photos, and people ask me to use them all the time. If they're not planning to use them for some scummy, scammy purpose, I normally allow it. So definitely try asking.
Thanx for all the suggestion i tried contacting the owner and he said he had taken it from some free source site so he has no issues letting me use the same Made my day !!!
Whoa. It doesn't matter if the site owner doesn't have an issue with you using it. He/she doesn't own the copyright to the image. Especially for a header I would further research the source of the image in question. Do not take his/her word that the image is public domain or copyright restrictions have been lifted.
