Short of banning the guy there isn't much the mods can do. If you had paid by paypal you might be able to start a dispute but obviously the scammer knew that and is why he asked for other payment methods.

 

Do you have any other website that can help you generate some money to make up for this?

i was more in to domains and i have a few sites that make mabye a dollar or so a day nothing to make up for this.

The guy told me he was moving to the usa and he wanted to sell his site because he needed to focus on taking his masters and he needed money due to the fact he was leaving.

It sounded so legit i feel so stupid for falling for this

 

Wow dude, I feel for you. The mods should compile all of these kinds of threads and then link to them in a sticky in this section.

If you where reading the posts who would have seen i bought a site from him off here and it went well
so i figured he was legit i made a mistake but i just didint send the money right away i talked to him alot before this he seemed honnest.

 

Hi, look in this post, on the right hand corner there will be a little triangle with a red outline. Click on that and report the post it will go directly to the mods and they will be able to read this thread and ban this guy.

I have been scammed before as well and I have learned my lesson.. (i hope)

Ya that was a lot of money you handed out there. I understand that you thought this was a safe way of doing business, as many people fall very easy for these things. It is sad that people out there do this type of stuff and ruin it for everyone else. Just in case though, contact western union and see if there is ANYTHING they can do. More than likely not he already has his (your) money, but I don't know it is worth checking out.

 

If this would help. I have this persons contact information, scan of identity card. I had some msn contact with him and was close to buy it from him. He sounded very desperate so something didn't felt right and I decided not to trust him. Here's the details I have so far:

Ya smart move webbimperiet. I can't believe you thought to get all that information from him. Sadly because he is outside of the U.S. there isn't a whole lot you can do to get a hold of him legally, but at least this is a start. Remember to contact Western Union just in case. try this and let them know all the details of the situation

Its an expensive lesson. How about contacting the hosting company and registar of the site with the receipt from western union?
I don't know if it will help, just throwing ideas out.

Sorry for your loss. The scamming on this site is getting to the point where it defeats its usefulness; other forums seem not to have such issues.

If you poke around on the 'net, you'll notice this pond-life leaves quite a visible trail...
