I logged into my yahoo account today and came across a ad http://tools.search.yahoo.com/newsearch/accolades.html “Yahoo!’s new Search Assist...could save minutes off of everyday searches†— Fortune Magazine when did fortune magazine become an expert on search engines? Is this desperation? comments are welcome
LOL, how did you come to the conclusion that its anti-google? Fortune Magazine has every right to advertise for yahoo.
Since when have testimonials or reviews been seen as being Anti anything. This thread title is Full of . .
however it could be a paid review ..anyways yahoo is flexing their muscles to get on with google, their last desparate attempt to improve their cash flow as they mentioned this week.
Yahoo is running an Anti-Google campaign on the radio. "Google gives you too many results" "Get lost in Google's results". Whatever. The company that redefined relevance rankings has too many... A sad tactic from a tired company.
Hmm, your very first post. Odd choice of thread to start off in, esp as this thread's main claim and evidence was quite lacking. I am interested in your one though, got any audiolinks? To be honest, there is a pretty high chance many of us do not listen to the same radio station you do. Until then, i'll file this one as Pending...
Google's results are way better than Yahoo's They should improve their own SE before they go bash someone else.
Claudek, I was able to find a story on news.com about the campaign. Unsure if the url will be blocked or not, as I'm new. http://www.news.com/8300-10784_3-7.html?categoryId=9702221 As for my odd post, I am fairly unhappy with Yahoo search marketing at the moment, so the radio ads hit a nerve. Seems to me they have sunk to a level of anything-goes. Didn't mean to be so vague.
Thanks for the link to the story. Giving you rep points for that. Think the last ad outside of the Internet for Yahoo at least that I saw was the guy with the afro a few years back. Hope it works out for you in YSM. May want to post your issues in the Yahoo Marketing forum - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=84 here to get some feedback.
