Hello guys, Mostly i saw the top 10 SERP sites are .com or .net or .org rather than .tv, Does that mean .tv have less chance to get top SERP? Does it make a different when it comes to Search Engine to rank site? Does .tv make a different?
In this case might .TV help if the keyword was for something like "Mad TV" and the domain was mad.tv? (yes I'm partial to mad .
That is post count increase . To the OP - the reason you're not seeing many sides with other TLDs on first page very often is because they are rare. The .com, .org and .net are most common. For example, an individual wouldn't buy a .tv or .fm site if the .com version was available.
This answer is right and wrong, it's not that the TLDs are rare. They fact is *.com, *.org & *.net among others have been around sinces the late 80s and many of the newer ones aren't that old.
.com, .net it`s global TDLs .de, .ro, .uk, .be .... it`s relevant for Germany, Romania, UK ....... .gov is most relevant Google use the server IP to locate the country.
thanks guys, now that you talk about the scarcity of the resource, that makes a lot of sense. Indeed, that is what i'm looking to buy using .tv and sadly mad.tv is already sold otherwise it would be mine!
My dear friend It doesnot matter whether you own .com .gov, .info, .tv or whatever. just look this link that .info is in top one position in google.com out of 373,000,000 result. "http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=spain" Second example with .biz is top one position on google.com out of 22,900,000 results "http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=games+industry&meta=" Cool Mate and Enjoy your day
Technically, .TV is Not an extension related to TV or Television or Videos. Aditionally, .TV is Not a global tld. Actually, .TV IS a Country TLD, for the island of Tuvalu. Despite normal SEO techniques, one useful task could be including the Language Definition Meta Tag according to the country you are targeting so that the search engine recognizes it correctly and not the language spoken in Tuvalu (that I have no idea which that is). Even though the comment from ExtremeData above was not clear, the order of the TLDs he listed, according to a number of SEOs on the internet even though contrary to what Google says, is what many have seen, from the most important to the least. .gov .edu .org .com .net ....... other (.TV?)Extremely similar sites (niche, content, keywords, density, number of pages, internal linking, backlinks, age...) including domains with those TLDs would almost certainly be ranked in that order on Google. And .TV would almost only be listed better if that site: - was hosted in Tuvalu, - had the content written in their language, - the user accessing the site was located in Tuvalu and, - the user was accessing Google.TV. Finally, to rank a .TV better, just doing better SEO to surpass other sites optimization and other TLDs advantages. PS - I have a .TV myself.
More important is the page content, the name of the domain and SEO - relevant title, description, good density of keyword.... TDLs has a small importance. PS:Sorry for my bed english
