SEO refund

Those of you who provide SEO service, do you ever refund if and when you fail to deliver what you promised as an SEO consultant?

For example, let's say that your client is in the printing industry and he wants to rank his website within the top 10 for the keyword "Make Business Card [The name of a city]". Let's say that, after a year, you fail to deliver the result. Do you refund?

It would depend... I only help out people I know in the real world and do not actively solicit work. If I promised something...thats how it would be. Even though- I know I can do something--- I just say best effort.

No SEO can promise a certain ranking and those consultants that I know always include a caveat about this in their initial proposal.

    You can't control Google.

I've been looking for an SEO service that only gets paid on results but they are impossible to find.

The main reason is becuase seo work in 99% a total ripoff. Statistically proven anyway.:(

Very true my friend this is something which people have to understand that whosoever promises to give no#1 at google for the keyword that is in demand is not really possible.

It can work on the keywords with very less records. So, this is very typical on that part, so it's better not to promise on the keywords which seems to be very hard to reach at top but for the keywords with fewer records can definitely be achieved.

So, according to me i myself have never done this and request others also not to do for future prospective and business.

if a company makes promises it cannot deliver on, a refund, at least partially sounds reasonable?

Even competitive keywords / key phrases like "Cheap Hotel New York" and "Budget Hotel London"?

I don't think it would be fair to ask for a refund after a YEAR.
It all depends on the competition in your market. The service you are with will have to tell you before-hand that it will take approximately "this long" to get good results.

If you have seen relative results within 3-6 months I won't refund, because they did provide positive results.

A partial refund I'll maybe do.

Its not like it is that hard to do... but can be time-consuming and results take months. I think I would rather chew glass than do competitive SEO for a living.

Ok, that's fair. You actually delivered a result at one time. But what if you completely fail to deliver any result for a year consistently ... throughout?

If they haven't delivered a result for a solid year then I would ask for a refund.
If a seo company can't deliver results within 1 solid year than they suck balls. ;-)
